Chandigarh 14th September:- To communicate with patients in a better way, South Indian doctors celebrated 'Hindi Day' in PGI today . The senior residents of PGI have incorporated the local languages in their everyday communication with patients so that better treatment is given to the needy patients. PGI has more than 750 south Indian doctors who are serving in a sincere way. Pandit Rao, assistant professor in Government College has been teaching the doctors Hindi and Punjabi. Pandit Rao himself is a south Indian but has learned Punjabi and Hindi so well that he has penned down 12 books in Punjabi and Hindi. After celebrating the 'Hindi Day' Pandit Rao said under the guidance of Prof Yogesh Chawla, the teaching of Punjabi and Hindi is going on well. Senior resident Dr Vishwanth who has mastered Punjabi and Hindi after attending Pandit Rao's class said it is always better to talk in patients language. Another senior resident Doctor Vinay said Indian languages should be given importance in Health sector.
