Chandigarh 01st September:- MCM DAV College for Women Chandigarh, an institution acclaimed for its unwavering strife for the welfare of the society and making endeavors to contribute its share towards upliftment of environment it flourishes in, took one step forward in its efforts to revive the beauty and agility of mother earth by organizing a Tree Plantation Drive in the college.
The NSS Unit of the college organised a 'Plantation Drive and Flash Mob' in the college campus to sensitize the students about the potential threat of Global warming facing us. In a programme which saw an enthusiastic participation from the NSS Volunteers, vows were taken to nurture the saplings and preserve the peaceful greenery that mother nature so willingly bestows on us. Students presented dances and thought provoking slogans also echoed in the college campus. Anurag Aggarwal, IAS, Home Secretary, Chandigarh Administration was the Chief Guest at the Occasion and was all praises for the superlative endeavour on the part of MCM DAV.
The Guest of Honour Bikram Rana, State Liaison Officer (NSS), Chandigarh Administration appreciated the superlative effort of the college towards combating the contemporary threat of global warming.
The Principal of the college Mrs. Neena Dhawan was highly appreciative of the superlative zeal showcased by the student volunteers. She emphasized the significance of preserving and nurturing the Mother Nature and impressed upon the participants the importance of augmenting the natural resources.
