DHS Inagurates “National Nutrition Week” at GMSH-16

Chandigarh 01st September:- To create awareness on the importance of nutrition for health which has far reaching implications on development, productivity, economic growth and ultimately national development National Nutrition Week is celebrated every year from 1st September to 7th September.  "National Nutrition Week" was inaugurated today by acting Director Health Service, Chandigarh Administration Dr. Vandana Gupta in the premises of GMSH-16, organised by Dietetics Department.  Ramp walk was done by the successful candidates who have reduced their weight with dietary control under the supervision of dieticians ranging from 5 kg to 28 kg. The nutrition week will carry out various other activities from 01.09.2015 to 07.09.2015 in the premises of GMSH-16 under the supervision of Senior Dietician Mrs. Manisha Arora.

Nutrition is a focal point of health and well-being. According to WHO, "Nutrition is the intake of food, considered in relation to the body's dietary needs". Nutrition is an issue of survival, health and development for current and succeeding generations.
