Gian Jyoti Banur Campus Celebrates Women’s Equality Day

Chandigarh 27th August:- Gian Jyoti Group of Institutions celebrated Women's Equality day at its Campus. Women's Equality Day marks a turning point in the history of the struggle for equal treatment of women and their rights. Chairman, J.S. Bedi said at the moment that gender equality and the empowerment of the women are essential to our sustainable future. He later, also highlighted the challenges of women in the rural areas and that girls must have access to education and be encouraged to study as one of the ways to shatter glass ceiling. The main motto of the day was to Empowering Women, Empowering Humanity

Multifarious activities were organized at the moment like ethnic wear competition, mehandi competition, and presentation competition followed by many other activities. Students and staff joined and participated excitedly in all sensitizing activities conducted. The Presentations given by students focused on the importance of Women empowerment where issues like women entrepreneurs, safety of women etc. were discussed. All the girls were dressed beautifully in their traditional and contemporary attires. The winners of the Ethnic Wear Competition were Navneet (MBA), Simranjeet(ECE), Jeevanjot(CSE) and Poonam(CSE) whereas in Mehandi Competition, the positions were bagged by Komal(CE), Jaspreet(EEE) and Haya(MBA). In the Presentation Competition, the winners were Ishfaq (MBA) and Khalid(MBA), Shabnam(CE), Kevin(ECE), lakshay(ME), Sonam(CE) and Sajan Pradhan(CE).
