Delegation from Bhutan meets Mayor, Commissioner of MC, Chandigarh

Chandigarh 02^nd February:-A delegation of 8 members of Executive Engineers from Thimphu City Corporation, Bhutan, Under the Guidence of Ngawang Tashi, Chief Engineer, Thimphu Thromde met with Smt. Poonam Sharma, Mayor, V P Singh, IAS, Commissioner, and senior officers of MC, Chandigarh today. Mayor welcomed the delegation and the Commissioner gave brief introduction regarding various projects & functions of the Corporation, Roads, water supply, gardens & Green Belts, urban planning and architecture etc.

Ngawang Tashi said that the study tour also aims to study the best practices of Roads departments and water supply departments in India and Chandigarh is most popular city throughout the world and their government planned to study the projects and working style of Municipal Corporation Chandigarh. They also briefed about infrastructure development, planning, Roads, Sanitation and maintenance of Green spaces etc. The delegation also visited Japanese Garden, various other projects of MC, gardens and sukhna lake etc.

The Delegation were including Smt. Sonam Tobgay, Smt. Kinzang Hyeltshen, Dechen Tshomo, Jangchuk Chocten, Sangay Wangdi, Sona, Tshewang and Pekar Rabgay.
