Foreign Delegation Motivate To Be Innovative

Chandigarh 17th September:- Human Resource Development and Entrepreneurship Education and Training were discussed with a 28 member International delegation from 14 countries at CII-AVANTHA Centre for Competitiveness for SMEs. Delegates who were from the Government and NGOs agreed to the similarity of HR and leadership related issues concerning the developing countries.

R.Narayanan, Head, CII-AVANTHA Centre for Competitiveness for SMEs while enumerating various services of the Center stressed that simple practices like trusting employees, mentoring them for progress has a significant impact on their morale which eventually culminates into greater productivity and thus enhanced profits." The Center has impacted 2452 SMEs through formation of 241 clusters along with strategic partners as on date.

 Dr. Padmakumar Nair, Director & Dean, LM Thapar School of Management spoke on entrepreneurial leadership which is his area of expertise. He started his address by pointing out that there is a serious trust and leadership deficit in the society at large. 'Theory of Life' – the experiences shape our outlook, how we see the world and more importantly how one takes decisions.  He stirred the delegates to challenge the pre-programmes which usually pull us down and become Innovative Leader Managers.

 

Impact of various programmes conducted by CII-Avantha Centre for Competitiveness for SMEs was also detailed during the session. Some of benefits are - Joint ventures and MoUs worth Rs. 31400 lakh, exports of Rs. 5000 lakh have been facilitated through Indo-German Manager training programme. As much as 100 and 300 % increase in turnover recorded by participant companies Rs. 7000 Lakh annual savings reported from about 90 individual companies through Energy Management Services in last 5 years. Served more than 1000 SME units through Energy Audit & Technology up-gradation Services. In the realm ofCorrosion Services through 8 Audits savings worth 400 lakh have been detailed. Nearly 720 organisation 1700 Managers benefitted from 24 Corrosion related training programmes.

 

Delegates from Afghanistan, Ghana, Lesotho, Tanzania, Uganda, Nigeria, Niger, Uzbekistan, Nepal, Myanmar, Sudan, South Africa, Mauritius and Zimbabwe attended the programme.
