Lecture on How To Keep Heart Healthy Held At MCM

Chandigarh 05^th November:--- Giving an impetus to the health promotion the Medical Committee of the MCM DAV College, organized a lecture on "How to keep your heart healthy." The lecture gave the students an opportunity to benefit from the expertise of Dr. Arun Kochar, Sr. Intervention Cardiologist, Fortis Hospital, Mohali.

Dr. Kochar informed the students that contradictory to the notion of heart ailments being age specific, there is a growing trend of heart disease striking at an early age. He exerted that proper knowledge and a little precaution can help in countering this trend. Enlightening the students about the symptoms of coronary artery disease, Dr. Kochar said that on the occurrence of severe chest pain, heart failure or irregular heartbeats, one should seek immediate medical advice. Loaded with useful information, the lecture was followed by an interactive session which witnessed enthusiastic participation from the students.

The Principal of the college Dr. Puneet Bedi lauded the superlative endeavour and said, that with the heart ailments rising on setting at early age and rising at an alarming rate, we deemed it to be our moral duty to sensitize the students at an early stage for a healthier generation.
