Italy Entrepreneurs Show Interest To Forge Ties With Punjab Industry at CII Seminar

Chandigarh 10th December:--- There is an immense potential in the Punjab region for Italian technologies, Hi - Tech machinery, ultra modern techniques, advanced equipments and technical knowhow especially in Renewable energy & Agriculture sector, and we are particularly keen to forge business ties, Joint Ventures (JVs), build  Partnerships and develop other inter trade mechanisms like appointing dealerships and distributor channels with the industrialists and farming community from Northern India, especially Punjab and Chandigarh region in these 2 sectors,", highlighted H.E Daniele Mancini, Ambassador of Italy to India while interacting with CII members from Punjab & Chandigarh at an Interaction organized by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), at its Headquarters in Chandigarh here today. 

 

While interacting with Members he added that we see Punjab region as our partner in business and success, considering its status as the largest agrarian Indian state with huge scope and thrust on renewable energy. In renewable energy sector, which is focus area for Punjab and also the energy of future, Italy is ready to offer its latest technologies, Hi Tech panels and smart & technologically advanced farm equipments and apparatus to avail maximum power from natural resources like sun and wind etc. In Farm sector, Italy's most advanced machinery like Farm implement planters, transplanters, balers and harvesters can help save time in ploughing, sowing, irrigation, crop processing, crop drying, harvesting and hence raise the overall Agri-productivity.  He further shared Italy's balers can compress a cut and raked crop (such as hay, cotton, straw, or silage) into compact bales that are easy to handle, transport, and store. Further, Rice transplanters can cut paddy in such a way that its bi-product is not wasted, rather used directly to make wine.

 

Bharat Raghuvanshi, ICE Italian Trade Agency, Renewable Energy Desk shared that ICE-Italian Trade Agency in partnership with GSE – a state-owned company, promotes and supports the supply of technology and solutions for the Renewable energy sector from Italy to India, with special thrust on generation of solar energy. We would assist the companies from Punjab reach out to our partners in Italy. Around 33 Italian companies have already joined the ICE-GSE initiative in India, while another 130 are partners with GSE. All these are open and ready for any business tie ups and JVs, he further added.

 

Man Mohan Singh, Chairman, CII Chandigarh Council, said that several B2B meetings were held and proposals and partnerships were discussed between CII members from the region and Italian companies. The local entrepreneurs benefitted immensely from the Italian latest technologies, products and best practices and were very keen to join hands with the Italian counterparts to expand their businesses.

 

Pikender Pal Singh, Regional Director, CII NR mentioned that CII upholds the value of sharing best practices and today's ineraction was one such initiative. It highlighted the key factors like partnerships, M&A support, sales, production and network expansion between Italy and Punjab, which would help in creating a conducive environment for local businesses and help them expand especially in Agri & Renewable energy sectors
