DPS BADHANI ORGANISES FOUNDER’S DAY, ANNOUNCES PLANS TO SET UP 9 HOLE GOLF COURSE

Chandigarh 15th December:- Dalhousie Public School (DPS), Badhani,
near Pathankot celebrated its Founder's Day. A fete was organized on
the sprawling school campus which presented a pretty picture. A stall
was dedicated to giving information on the school's aviation sector
training initiative. The theme of the day was Christmas. A Santa and
Christmas tree embellished the arena. Prizes for best dressed parent
couple; raffle draw etc were also part of the Founder's Day. 28 stalls
of various games and for demonstrating one's skills as also for eats
had been put up. Like every year the day was marked by gusto, but
there was a very unique aspect of the event this time around. The
school's management announced a path breaking tie up in the aviation
sector. DPS, Badhani has become the first boarding school in India to
have entered into a unique aviation agreement. The school has tied up
with Island Flying School located within the Porter Airport, Toronto,
Canada, for training the school's students in flying. The picturesque
airport is located on an island and provides a fascinating and
salubrious environment for learning flying from the best experts in
the field and in a real airport setting.

While talking to the media, P S Grewal, Director, DPS, Badhani, said
that a trainee who wants to join the programme needs to be 16 years or
above in age. The arrangement is such that in a span of two months he
or she will be taught sports flying and will be given a recreational
pilot's license. He further added that one gets a chance of doing an
excursion, explore a foreign country and acquire a new skill – Flying.
While other schools just provide academic education this state of the
art boarding school will additionally offer vocational exposure to its
students and that too in a foreign country. What's more, the facility
can be availed not just by the school students but by people from
outside the school too. P S Grewal said that their school is soon
slated to establish a 9 hole residential golf academy, work on which
will start in the next two weeks. This academy will make DPS, Badhani
the first school in India to have a full scale golf course.
