Rs.2 crore 10 lacs Distribute From Chief Minister Cancer Relief Fund to 140 Cancer Patients:DC Mohali

Mohali 05th November: ------ Financial aid of Rs. 2 crore 10 lacs has been distributed from Chief Minister Cancer Relief Fund to 140 cancer patients of SAS Nagar district, so that they could get help for their treatment.  This was stated by Deputy Commissioner Tejinder Pal Singh Sidhu, he said that a financial aid of Rs. 1.50 lac is provided to each cancer patient from Chief Minister Cancer relief Fund by Punjab Govt.  He said that 144 patients in the district has requested for financial help, which have been provided to them and for remaining 4 patients Rs. 6 lacs as a financial help will also be provided very soon. He further said that medicines at subsidized rates are also being provided at Jan Ausadhi store being run by Red Cross Society at Civil Hospital Phase -6, Mohali.

Deputy Commissioner said that as per Janani Suraksha Yojna, financial help is also provided at delivery. He said that under this scheme Rs. 7 lacs 4 thousand 6 hundred have been distributed from April to September. Besides this, as per Mata Kaushalya scheme a financial help of Rs. 1000/- is being provided to parenting woman after delivery in Govt. Civil hospitals. He said that during the current financial year financial aid of Rs. 2 crore 92 lacs 2 thousand have been provided under this scheme. Deputy Commissioner said that health department has been directed to provide awareness regarding institutional deliveries, so as to achieve 100 percent target for the same. Institutional deliveries are safe for mother and the child. Deputy Commissioner said that under J.S.S.K. scheme. Rs. 4 lacs 62 thousand 725 have been spent for diet of parenting mother & child & Rs. 4 lacs 82 thousand 639 have been spent for medicines. Deputy Commissioner said that Mobile Medical Service has been started by Health Department, which is helpful for providing medical facilities to the people in distant villages. He said that with this mobile unit 22 villages, 1 brick kiln site & students of 1 slum school have been medically checked up. He said that with this medical unit check up of 1039 patients have been done, out of which 474 were males & 565 were females. With this medical unit 24 X-rays, 83 lab tests & 9 ECGs have been got conducted. He said that a prior intimation to the villagers is given before sending the mobile unit in the village so that they could get more benefit from this medical mobile unit.
