Those treating you to movies will now entertain you on the Cricket field. The trophy of the Cinema Cricket League 2013, which will see three movie destinations of Chandigarh -- Piccadily Square Cinemas, DT Cinemas and Fun Cinemas battling it out on the cricket ground, was unveiled today.

According to Vineet Sablok, GM (Ops), Piccadily Square, that Cricket is like a religion in India and we wanted to convert the competition turf from that of 'business' to one of 'sport'. What's better than Cricket which is India's most popular sport to do that.  Adds Sablok, that there will be three league matches between the contenders and then a final will be played. Giving further detail about the Tournament Vineet Sablok informed that the First Match will be played out on 11 November'2013 between Piccadily Square Cinema Team, and the DT Cinema Team. The second Match will be on 18 November'2013 between Fun Cinema Team and DT Cinema Team. The Third tie will be on 19 November'2013 between Piccadily Square Cinema Team and Fun Cinema Team. Depending on the results of the three league outings, a final match will be held on 3 rd December'2013. All League matches would be played in Government School, Sector-40, Chandigarh. The Final Match would be played in Sector-16 Stadium, Chandigarh at 1:00 PM. The idea behind the league is also to give an opportunity to the staff of the Cinema Outlets who work late hours to meet business deadlines and targets to get some quality time to relax and recharge themselves. Another motive is to increase work efficiency, improve leadership skills and build team work.

Amit Singh, Sr Manager (Ops), DT Cinemas says, that we have been having practice sessions at the Government School, Sector - 40 Chandigarh grounds in afternoons. This has brought many of us back in shape as one does get a little inactive physically, doing regular corporate work. We are looking forward to having some good cricket and a lot of fun during the tournament."

According to Mr. Jitendra Singh, Cinema Manager (Ops), Fun Cinemas. "This will be a first of its kind cricket tournament as Cinema outlets housed in malls have never been locked in sporty battles before this. The three unique teams in the league will try to beat one another in a competition of a different kind."
