Guntaj Arora’s Magazine “Miracle” Release

Chandigarh 14^th November:---  Chandigarh Sahitya Academy Chairperson, Mrs. Manju Zaidka, today release the Magazine "Miracle" of Guntaj Arora at Chandigarh Book Fair at sector 17, Chandigarh.

Miracle is a literary and arts magazine and one of its kind in India. The main aim of the magazine has been to promote young and emerging writers. The editor-in-chief and founder of the magazine, Guntaj Arora, is a young budding poet and a student of Sacred Heart Sr. Sec. School, sector 26, Chandigarh. Guntaj has been awarded twice by the world renowned Poetry Society UK for her poems and has been published many a times around the world. The magazine was started by her as a voluntary project to create a platform for young writers like her across the globe and today the magazine has contributors from all parts of the world. It has involved in various activities to promote literature. Earlier this year, the magazine launched an International poetry competition promoting world poetry and launched an anthology containing the winning poems. The magazine also plans to launch a project for the young poets in the city. The magazine has been in digital as yet and is launching its first ever print issue which is also its seventh edition on 14th November at the Chandigarh Book Fair.

According to the Guntaj Arora the Miracle magazine was quite a burst of idea on a hot summer day during my school summer vacations. It was in vacations, when I was involved in various poetry magazines submitting my work, that I realised that there weren't much poets that were actually supporting young writers. It was then I got the idea and was inspired to launch the magazine. The main aim of the magazine was to support young writers and build a platform where their voice could be heard. With some help from the Poetry Society UK, I set up the magazine in June 2012. The magazine whose audience was earlier restricted to only Britain started spreading with each issue, and by now the magazine has contributors from all corners of the world. The magazine now and again tries to publish new and emerging voices and create projects to help writers. I feel elated to launch the magazine today at Chandigarh book fair and I think more of these programs should be conducted in the city to inspire the young generation. The magazine was earlier only coming in print and now, we launched the Seventh issue of the magazine which was the first ever print issue of the magazine in the fair. I feel inspired and would like to continue with such activities even in the future. She said that her real inspiration for writing poetry has been T.S Eliot and Ezra Pound and of course, the famous indian poet Vikram Seth. I am an avid reader and particularly very much inspired by classical writers.
