In keeping with the Corbusier-inspired theme of the place, another infamous creation that adorns one of the brick walls is his signature Open Hand monument that has artfully been made using metal wires. Pushing the design envelope while simultaneously using classic elements, Mocha Chandigarh is a great place for those who appreciate the nuances of design while also providing a welcoming, comfortable ambience. Taking a cue from one of the most influential masters of modern architecture – Le Corbusier and using his planned city – Chandigarh as a canvas, the décor is an ode as well as an initiation to the works of a great man. Designer Amith Chhabra, Livin' Colors Design Co elaborates, "The outlet seeks inspiration from some of the master planner's landmark buildings and monuments. We have recreated walls that are a scaled down version of the High Court building's façade. Using natural ply-board, this distinct brise-soleil design is a Corbusier signature and even acts as shelves in the bar area. Mimicking the bold yellow, red and blue colours of the High Court building, the eye-catching wooden panels have been juxtaposed with exposed brick walls to create a warm inviting ambience. Other artworks include portraits of Le Corbusier along with paintings of his creations, while even the furniture and light fixtures are recreations of his original designs."
