Even though this is a welcome decision, still, Akali Dal demands the period to be extended to five years, which was stated in my press conference on 20th September. This was stated by Charanjit Singh Villy, President - Shiromani Akali Dal Chandigarh Unit.
Charanjit Singh Villy said that in the wake of this positive decision by Municipal Corporation Chandigarh, Akali Dal Chandigarh Unit have decided to cancel it's proposed agitation on the city's poor roads. And, we hope that MC will accept our demand of extending liability period to five years instead of three years.
He said that he also assure city residents that, very soon the party delegation will meet the Administrator of Chandigarh/ Governor of Punjab, to take up the issue of manifold increase in the charges of Leasehold-to-freehold of properties and opening up of floor wise registry of residential properties in the city. We will ensure that relief is to be given to the citizens of our city in this regards.
