भारतीय रिज़र्व बैंक के डिप्टी गवर्नर ने साइबर सुरक्षा जागरूकता वॉकथॉन को हरी झंडी दिखाई

Chandigarh, August 31, 2025:- बैंकर्स क्लब, चंडीगढ़ ने 31 अगस्त, 2025 को सुखना झील पर साइबर सुरक्षा जागरूकता पर एक वॉकथॉन का आयोजन किया। वॉकथॉन को भारतीय रिज़र्व बैंक के डिप्टी गवर्नर एम. राजेश्वर राव ने हरी झंडी दिखाकर रवाना किया। कार्यक्रम में क्षेत्र के बैंकर्स ने उत्साहपूर्वक भाग लिया और सुरक्षित बैंकिंग तथा जिम्मेदार डिजिटल प्रथाओं के प्रति जागरूकता फैलाने हेतु एक साथ आए।

अपने संबोधन में, डिप्टी गवर्नर राजेश्वर राव ने इस बात पर ज़ोर दिया कि डिजिटल प्लेटफ़ॉर्म सहित बैंकिंग सेवाएँ जनता की सुविधा के लिए बनाई गई हैं और इनका उपयोग ज़िम्मेदारी से किया जाना चाहिए। उन्होंने कहा कि आरबीआई के ऑनलाइन अभियानों के साथ-साथ इस तरह की भौतिक पहल जागरूकता फैलाने में अत्यधिक प्रभावी हैं। उन्होंने आगे बताया कि आरबीआई के दिशानिर्देशों के अनुसार, यदि ग्राहक की कोई गलती नहीं है और वह तुरंत धोखाधड़ी की सूचना देता है, तो उसका पैसा तुरंत वापिस सकता है —लेकिन सतर्कता और समय पर सूचना देना ज़रूरी है। श्री राव ने आगे कहा कि हालाँकि नकली मुद्रा का प्रचलन न्यूनतम है, फिर भी जनता को नोटों की पुष्टि के लिए "देखो, छूओ और महसूस करो" पद्धति का उपयोग जारी रखना चाहिए। डिजिटल भुगतान के बढ़ते चलन के साथ, नकदी पर निर्भरता कम हो रही है, जिससे सुरक्षित और अधिक सुरक्षित लेनदेन सुनिश्चित हो रहा है। उन्होंने बैंकिंग जगत को इस तरह के आउटरीच अभियानों के माध्यम से साइबर सुरक्षा के प्रति उनकी प्रतिबद्धता के लिए बधाई दी।

वॉकथॉन में शामिल लोगों ने प्लेकार्ड और नारेबाज़ी के ज़रिये साइबर सुरक्षा, डिजिटल स्वच्छता और जिम्मेदार डिजिटल प्रथाओं पर जोर दिया। इस पहल का उद्देश्य आज के डिजिटल युग में सुरक्षित बैंकिंग प्रथाओं के बारे में जन-जागरूकता को मज़बूत करना था।

इस अवसर पर, बैंकर्स क्लब के अध्यक्ष विवेक श्रीवास्तव ने ज़बरदस्त प्रतिक्रिया पर प्रसन्नता व्यक्त करते हुए कहा कि इस वॉकथॉन ने हमारे दैनिक जीवन में साइबर सुरक्षा के महत्व पर एक मज़बूत संदेश दिया है।

इस कार्यक्रम में भारतीय रिज़र्व बैंक के कार्यकारी निदेशकों के साथ-साथ नाबार्ड (हरियाणा) के मुख्य महाप्रबंधक श्रीमती निवेदिता तिवारी; नाबार्ड (पंजाब) की मुख्य महाप्रबंधक विनोद कुमार आर्य; भारतीय स्टेट बैंक के मुख्य महाप्रबंधक कृष्ण शर्मा; पंजाब नेशनल बैंक के महाप्रबंधक ललित तनेजा; और कई अन्य संस्थानों के क्षेत्रीय प्रबंधक भी शामिल हुए।

बैंकर्स क्लब चंडीगढ़ के वरिष्ठ बैंकरों का एक मंच है और इसमें आरबीआई, नाबार्ड, एसबीआई, पीएनबी, आईसीआईसीआई बैंक, एचडीएफसी बैंक और अन्य बैंकों के सदस्य शामिल हैं, जिनका प्रतिनिधित्व उप-महाप्रबंधक स्तर और उससे ऊपर के वरिष्ठ अधिकारी करते हैं।

Rain Washes Out Day Four of Chandigarh Premier League

Chandigarh, August 31, 2025:-The fourth day of the Chandigarh Premier League being organised by the UT Cricket Association at the Sector 16 Cricket Stadium was washed out due to persistent rain which led to the abandonment of both scheduled matches. The morning clash between Altruistians and Capital Strikers followed by the encounter between Chandigarh Kings and Dr Morepen Dazzlers could not take place.

As a result, both teams in each fixture shared one point each. Chandigarh Kings and Capital Strikers currently lead the points table with two wins from three matches while Dr Morepen Dazzlers and Talanoa Tigers are still hunting for their first victory.

Talanoa Tigers will face Capital Strikers while Panchkula Bashers will take on Chandigarh Kings on Monday. The league has no provision for reserve days except for the final which is scheduled for September 13.

Chandigarh Congress Protests in Dadu Majra, Holds BJP-led Municipal Corporation Accountable for Road Neglect and Financial Mess

Chandigarh, August 31, 2025:- The Chandigarh Pradesh Congress Committee today staged a strong protest in Dadu Majra Colony against the shameful neglect of roads and the worsening civic infrastructure under the BJP-led Municipal Corporation. Residents of the colony have been forced to suffer due to broken, pothole-ridden roads that have not been carpeted for years, leading to repeated accidents and daily hardships.

Hundreds of colony residents and party workers carrying placards, party flags and banners marched and raised slogans against the Bjp led Municipal corporation .

Addressing the gathering, H.S. Lucky, President of the Chandigarh Pradesh Congress Committee, came down heavily on the BJP for turning the Municipal Corporation into a hub of mismanagement and financial chaos. He reminded everyone that during Congress rule, the Municipal Corporation maintained a fixed deposit of over ₹500 crore, ensuring stability and adequate funds for development. Today, under BJP's control, the MC is reeling under a financial crisis, unable even to carry out basic civic work.

Lucky pointed out that 9 out of the last 10 Mayors have belonged to the BJP, and it is their series of faulty decisions, misplaced priorities, and financial blunders that have brought the Corporation to its knees. He said that the BJP must answer why the MC, once financially sound under Congress, is now neck-deep in liabilities. It is their governance that has completely deteriorated the functioning of the MC and pushed Chandigarh into this mess.

He also condemned the BJP's attempts to claim credit for the recently allocated ₹125 crore. He reminded that during Congress rule, such additional grants were often received, but Congress never turned them into a publicity stunt. He stressed that this money should be used exclusively for development and not to pay off outstanding dues. Lucky added that the BJP leaders went to the Administator only to stage a drama, whereas the money was directly credited to the MC's account. Their theatrics cannot hide the truth of their failure.

The protest program was organized by chandigarh congress spokesperson Narendra Chaudhary and Block Congress Committee President Prince, with the participation of several leaders from Dadu Majra and Senior Deputy Mayor Jasbir Bunty and Deputy Mayor Taruna Mehta. They unanimously held the BJP-led MC responsible for the pitiable state of civic amenities and declared that Congress will not remain silent if road recarpeting does not begin immediately after the monsoon.

In a significant political development earlier in the day, Indal Yadav from Purvanchal, along with 100 supporters, joined the Congress party in the presence of H.S. Lucky and Kripanand Thakur at Congress Bhawan, Sector 35, Chandigarh, expressing confidence that Congress will sweep the 2026 Municipal Elections.

Later, appointment letters were also distributed to new office bearers of the Congress Minority Department by H.S. Lucky, in the presence of Asif Chaudhary, Chairman of the Minority Department, for further strengthening the organization at the grassroots level in a separate program.

AAP’s Rebuttal: ₹125 Crore is the Public’s Right, Not BJP’s Gift: Vijaypal Singh

Chandigarh, August 31,2025:-Vijaypal Singh, President of AAP Chandigarh, described the recent claims by Mayor Harpreet Kaur Babla and the BJP as "misleading and an attempt to confuse the public." He clarified that the ₹125 crore package released to the Municipal Corporation is not a BJP achievement; rather, it is taxpayers' money re-appropriated by the UT Administration from the Electricity Department's 'Material and Supplies' head under 'Grant-in-Aid.' Misrepresenting this as a political accomplishment to mislead citizens is wrong.

Singh also targeted BJP's rhetoric and political publicity. He said that BJP spread rumors of ₹92 crore and later ₹328 crore, offering "sweet treats," while in reality, such amounts never materialized. This, he stated, reflects BJP's method of politics: slogans, propaganda, and public misinformation.

He questioned the Mayor's approach, stated that instead of being happy with approval of only ₹125 crore instead of ₹330 crore, the Mayor should have demanded more funds, as ₹125 crore is not enough to fully develop Chandigarh.

He alleged that BJP's V3 roads transfer agenda was a ploy to shirk responsibility from the Municipal Corporation while claiming credit for themselves. BJP reportedly did not want the construction of V5 (in front of markets) and V6 (in front of residential areas) roads, and when AAP and Congress councilors began discussions on supporting and expanding the project, they were forcibly removed from the hall. Singh clarified that AAP Chandigarh supports making the city's roads world-class and is in no way anti-development.

Commenting on the FIR against the former Mayor, he said that BJP has no issues to raise except defaming the opposition. He reminded that AAP's Mayor position was controversially decided due to BJP's vote manipulation (Anil Massi allegedly stole 8 votes), which was later upheld in AAP's favor by the Supreme Court. During BJP's 10-year rule in the Municipal Corporation, contractor mafias and tender scams flourished. BJP now tries to shift the blame for its failures onto others, but the public sees through it.

Refuting BJP's "alliance of convenience" claim, Singh said that nationally, BJP is isolated, and in Punjab, it is also alone. AAP is the only party that engaged with citizens directly and worked on development issues. AAP is the party that provided essential services like electricity and water to citizens and free bus services for women initiatives BJP previously called mere "rewards" but later had to adopt. BJP's role is limited to poster campaigns and claiming political credit.

Vijaypal Singh warned that the public will hold BJP accountable in the 2026 Municipal Corporation elections. He stated that Chandigarh needs a transparent and accountable administration, not credit politics. In conclusion, he emphasized: the ₹125 crore is the public's right, not BJP's gift, and the citizens are observing real development rather than false claims.

Congress Has Mastered the Art of “Vote Chori”: Devshali

Chandigarh, August 29, 2025:-Former Municipal Councillor Shakti Prakash Devshali strongly condemned the so-called "vote chori" allegations leveled by the Congress leadership, particularly Rahul Gandhi. He stated that these allegations are not only baseless but also a direct attack on the dignity of India's democratic process and its independent institutions.

Devshali said that in the 2024 parliamentary elections, Congress secured its highest vote share in the last 35 years. This fact itself exposes Rahul Gandhi and Congress's claims of "vote chori" as completely false and misleading.

He emphasized that the electoral process adopted by the Election Commission of India is globally recognized for its transparency, impartiality, and efficiency. As an autonomous constitutional authority, the Election Commission ensures free and fair elections in accordance with the law. Congress's attempts to cast doubt on this credibility, Devshali noted, are nothing but a reflection of their growing frustration at being repeatedly rejected by the people.

Recalling historical events, Devshali stated that Congress has its own dark history of "vote chori." In 1952, in order to defeat the architect of the Constitution, Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, Congress orchestrated the rejection of more than 74,000 votes. In protest of this injustice, Babasaheb himself filed the first-ever election petition in Indian history, spanning 18 pages.

Similarly, during the 1952 general elections, when Maulana Abul Kalam Azad lost from Rampur in Uttar Pradesh to Bishan Chandra Seth, then Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru intervened through the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and exerted pressure. Consequently, ballots were forcibly removed from the victorious candidate's ballot box and inserted into Azad's box, after which he was declared the winner.

Chandigarh, August 29, 2025:-Chandigarh Kings registered their second consecutive win by beating Talanoa TIgers by 32 runs at the ongoing Chandigarh Premier League (CPL) 2025 being organised by UT Cricket Association at Sector 16 Cricket Stadium on Friday. The encounter was reduced to 12 overs per side due to ground conditions.

Tigers opted to field first as Kings' skipper Shivam Bhambri (86 off 38 balls, 10 fours, 4 sixes) and opener Aarush Bhandari (58* off 31 balls, 4 fours, 4 sixes) ruled the stage with a scintillating 151-run stand for the first wicket. Bhambri's blistering stroke-play at a strike rate of 226.32 provided the perfect foundation while unbeaten Bhandari aptly supported his partner. A little nice cameo from Raman Bishnoi (18 off 4 balls) with three towering sixed helped Kings to post 169/2. 

In reply, Talanoa Tigers made a spirited chase led by Abhishek Singh's explosive 49 off 17 balls including five sixes while Nehal Pajni's 37 off 19. However, disciplined bowling spells by Ishaan Garg (2/17) and Raman Bishnoi (2/15) put the brakes on runs flow at crucial stages. Despite a late surge, the Tigers were restricted to 137/6 in 12 overs, falling short by 32 runs.

Later in the second match of the day, Capital Strikers held their nerves to register a narrow 8-run victory over Panchkula Bashers in a 17-over contest.

Opting to bat first Strikers posted a competitive 140/5  with a sensational knock from Arjit Singh (63 off 33 balls, 2 fours, 5 sixes). Skipper Rajangad Bawa (19 off 11) provided valuable support in the middle overs. In reply, Panchkula Bashers made a strong chase with skipper Ankit Kaushik (39 off 23 balls) and Devang Kaushik (32 off 27 balls) giving them hope of a late surge. However, the match turned dramatically in the final over with Panchkula needing 13 runs to win. The first match MoM Jaskirat Singh Mehra delivered a stunning last over, picking three wickets (3/17) and dashing the hopes of the Bashers. .

UTCA invites Gully Cricket Players to witness CPL action

Panchkula, August 29, 2025:-पारस हेल्थ की विशेषज्ञ टीम ने दिल्ली के 49 वर्षीय आनंद प्रकाश मिश्रा का सफल किडनी ट्रांसप्लांट कर उन्हें नई जिंदगी दी। मरीज लंबे समय से क्रॉनिक किडनी डिज़ीज़ (सीकेडी), डायबिटीज़ और हाई ब्लड प्रेशर से जूझ रहे थे और डायलिसिस पर निर्भर थे। इसके अलावा उन्हें हृदय की गंभीर बीमारी (कार्डियोमायोपैथी), फेफड़ों में पानी और अन्य जटिलताएँ भी थीं, जिसके चलते वे उच्च जोखिम वाले मरीज माने जा रहे थे।

इन कठिन परिस्थितियों में उनकी पत्नी, श्रीमती रजनी निशा ने निस्वार्थ भाव से किडनी दान कर पति की जान बचाने का निर्णय लिया। लैप्रोस्कोपिक तकनीक से हुई सर्जरी के बाद वे तीन दिनों में स्वस्थ होकर घर लौट गईं। आनंद मिश्रा की हालत भी तेजी से सुधरी—किडनी सामान्य हुई, फेफड़ों से पानी निकल गया और हृदय की कार्यक्षमता बेहतर हुई।

अमर्यादित भाषा का लोकतंत्र में कोई स्थान नहीं: कैलाश जैन

Chandigarh, August 29, 2025:-चंडीगढ़ भाजपा के वरिष्ठ नेता एवं यूवीएम के अध्यक्ष कैलाश चंद् जैन ने बिहार के दरभंगा में आयोजित कांग्रेस नेता राहुल गांधी की रैली के दौरान माननीय प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी को गाली देने एवं उनकी माता जी के संबंध में की गई अमर्यादित, अपमानजनक और असंसदीय टिप्पणी पर कड़ी आपत्ति जताते हुए इसकी कड़े शब्दों में निंदा की है।

आज यहां जारी अपने बयान में श्री जैन ने कहा कि राजनीति का स्तर इतना नीचे नहीं गिरना चाहिए। लोकतंत्र में विचारों का मतभेद और बहस-विवाद स्वाभाविक हैं, किंतु राजनीति में भाषा की मर्यादा का पालन करना सबसे पहली जिम्मेदारी है। प्रधानमंत्री और उनकी स्वर्गवासी माता जी के लिए इस प्रकार की अभद्र भाषा का प्रयोग न केवल प्रधानमंत्री पद की गरिमा का अपमान है, बल्कि भारतीय संस्कृति और लोकतांत्रिक परंपराओं पर भी सीधा आघात है।

कैलाश जैन ने कहा कि ऐसा प्रतीत होता है कि कांग्रेस पार्टी अब सारी मर्यादाएं और शिष्टाचार भूल चुकी है, और व्यक्तिगत आक्षेप, अभद्र भाषा तथा परिवारजनों पर टिप्पणियों तक सीमित हो गई है। यह आचरण किसी भी रूप में स्वीकार्य नहीं है और भारतीय लोकतांत्रिक मूल्यों तथा राजनीतिक परंपराओं के खिलाफ है।

उन्होंने कांग्रेस मांग की कि कांग्रेस नेतृत्व तथा राहुल गांधी इस मामले में  तुरंत सार्वजनिक माफी मांगें और भविष्य में ऐसी भाषा का प्रयोग न करने का संकल्प लें, अन्यथा भारत की जनता उन्हें कभी क्षमा नहीं करेगी।

साथ ही, कैलाश जैन ने निर्वाचन आयोग और संबंधित संवैधानिक संस्थाओं से अपील की कि इस प्रकरण पर संज्ञान लेते हुए आवश्यक कार्रवाई की जाए।

अंत में उन्होंने कहा कि भाजपा और उसके कार्यकर्ता जनता के मुद्दों, विकास कार्यों और राष्ट्र निर्माण पर केंद्रित रहेंगे, जबकि इस प्रकार की अमर्यादित भाषा का लोकतंत्र में कोई स्थान नहीं है।

Anveshika Physics Bharat Yatra Session organized at Govt College of Education

The ceremonial e-torch (Mashal) of Anveshika Physics Bharta Yatra was handed over to the college Dean Dr A K Srivastava, and faculty members Dr Sanjeev Kumar, Dr Sheojee Singh, Dr Lilu Ram, Dr Vandana Aggarwal, Dr Punam Bansal, Dr Balwinder Kaur and others along with students by Prof Sanjay K Sharma, Secretary IAPT and Prof M S Marwaha, former Principal of SGGS College, Sector 26 Chandigarh.

Dr A K Srivastva, Dean of the college formally welcomed the guests and inspired the students to get the maximum benefit from this session. Prof Sanjay Sharma explained the purpose of Anveshika Physics Bharat Yatra and highlighted how this brainchild of Padmashree Prof H C Verma was launched jointly at Srinagar in May 2025 by him and Shri Manoj Sinha, the LG of UT J & K with a purpose to share the joy of learning Physics with an aim of reaching the unreached throughout the country under the aegis of Indian Association of Physics Teachers (IAPT). Prof Sharma explained the role of Visualization in effective learning through various simple video animations and highlighted how such an approach has changed the way of learning science under the guidance of Prof H C Verma through a network of 28 Anveshika centres throughout the country.

Prof M S Marwaha presented his simple science demonstrations and explained how simple hands on activities bring liveliness, uniqueness and inspiration in science classrooms. Around 100 students of B Ed first semester and PGDGC attended the session. Sudents and faculty enjoyed the session very much. At the end of the program, Dr Sanjeev Kumar proposed the vote of thanks. BCCI's Anti-Corruption Unit Brief Players Ahead of CPL, League set to Begin Today

Chandigarh, August 27, 2025:-Officials from the Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU) of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) today conducted an awareness session for players, supporting staff and franchisee owners participating in the upcoming Chandigarh Premier League (CPL) 2025.

The interactive session was conducted by officers from the Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU) of BCCI who highlighted the importance of maintaining the highest standards of integrity in cricket.

This briefing was given by Ravindra Doiphode and Rakesh Dixit. Both the officers were working in high positions in Mumbai Police and Delhi Police. Addressing the players, the officers outlined the potential risks posed by betting networks, bookies and external elements that attempt to influence the outcome of matches. They emphasized the need for constant vigilance and strict adherence to the code of conduct prescribed by the BCCI. They also reminded players about the dangers of sharing sensitive information whether knowingly or unknowingly through social media, phone calls or casual conversations.

The session included real-life case studies from domestic and international cricket to help players understand how corruption attempts can appear in subtle ways. The officers further encouraged open dialogue, urging participants to raise questions and seek clarity on any situation that could compromise their professional integrity.

Panchkula, August 27, 2025:-सुर संगम, पंचकूला द्वारा सुप्रसिद्ध गायक मुकेश जी की पुण्यतिथि के अवसर पर संगीत प्रेमियों के लिए एक विशेष संगीतमय संध्या "रिमेम्बरिंग मुकेश: मैं ना भूलूंगा" का पीडब्ल्यूडी रेस्ट हाउस, सेक्टर 1 में आयोजन किया गया। इसमें पंचकूला, चंडीगढ़, पिंजौर, पटियाला, करनाल के कुशल गायकों ने सुप्रसिद्ध गायक स्व. मुकेश के बेहतरीन व सदाबहार गानों को कराओके के माध्यम से गाकर श्रोताओं को मंत्रमुग्ध कर दिया। इस आयोजन में 16 वर्ष से 66 वर्ष आयु वर्ग के 25 गायकों ने हिस्सा लिया और एकल व जोड़ी में अपना गायन श्रोताओं के समक्ष प्रस्तुत किया, जिसे सभी श्रोताओं ने खूब सराहा।

इस अवसर पर सुर संगम, पंचकूला के फाउंडर व कार्यक्रम के आयोजक डॉ. प्रदीप भारद्वाज के साथ कार्यक्रम में सम्मानित अतिथि के तौर पर जगदीप ढांडा (एचसीएस) और विशिष्ट अतिथि सामाजिक कार्यकर्ता डॉ. बेनु राव उपस्थित रहे। कार्यक्रम का आगाज दीप प्रज्ज्वलित कर किया गया। इसके उपरांत कुशल गायकों द्वारा मुकेश के गाए गए सदाबहार फिल्मी गाने कराओके के माध्यम से गाए गए। कुशल गायकों ने मुकेश के गाए गए गानों को अपनी आवाज में प्रस्तुत करने का एक बेहतर प्रयास किया। कार्यक्रम में कुल 30 सदाबहार फिल्मी गाने शामिल थे।

कार्यक्रम की शुरुआत करते हुए सुर संगम, पंचकूला के फाउंडर डॉ. प्रदीप भारद्वाज ने अपने गायन में "मैं न भूलूंगा"; "जिस गली में तेरा घर" और "तौबा ये मतवाली चाल" जैसे गीत गाकर वातावरण को भावुक बना दिया। जगदीप धंडा ने "धीरे-धीरे बोल", "महबूब मेरे" और "क्या खूब लगती हो" पेश कर दर्शकों की तालियां बटोरीं। डॉ. रोज़ी अनेजा ने "चंदन सा बदन" और "एक प्यार का नग़मा है" गीत से संध्या को सुरमयी रंग दिया।

डॉ. राजू धीर ने "भूली हुई यादों" और "संसार है एक नदीया" से श्रोताओं को पुरानी यादों में ले गए। डॉ. धीरज बडियाल ने "जाने कहां गए वो दिन" सुनाकर तालियां पाईं। डॉ. महेश मेहरा ने "कोई जब तुम्हारा हृदय तोड़े" और "कभी कभी" से दिलों को छू लिया।

इसके अलावा, डॉ. के.बी. मेहता ने "मैं पल दो पल का" और "कहीं दूर जब दिन ढल जाए" प्रस्तुत किया। अशोक दत्त ने "जोशे जवानी है रे" गाकर जोश भर दिया। रानी सुमन ने "ओ मेरे सनम" गाया। राजीव वर्मा ने "तारों में सजके अपना सूरज" पेश किया, वहीं कुलदीप ने "जो तुमको हो पसंद" गाकर श्रोताओं का दिल जीता।

संजीव कौडा और आर.सी. दास ने भी अपनी प्रस्तुतियों से कार्यक्रम को यादगार बनाया। नैंसी ने "मैं न भूलूंगा" गाकर संध्या का भावुक समापन किया।

सुर संगम, पंचकूला के फाउंडर डॉ. प्रदीप भारद्वाज ने इस अवसर पर कहा कि इस आयोजन का उद्देश्य कला व संस्कृति को बढ़ावा देना तथा गायकों को मंच प्रदान करना था, ताकि वे अपने अंदर के टैलेंट को उभार सकें। उन्होंने बताया कि कार्यक्रम में सदाबहार गानों को गाना प्रतिष्ठित गायक मुकेश को भावपूर्ण श्रद्धांजलि देना भी था।

Bathinda, August 26, 2025:- The month of August is observed as Children's Eye Health and Safety Month. Max Super Speciality Hospital, Bathinda, aims to raise awareness about childhood vision problems, highlighting the importance of early diagnosis, and encouraging timely medical intervention to help prevent blindness and other associated eye-health issues in children.

Vision plays a vital role in a child's development, learning, and overall well-being. Since children may not always recognize or communicate about vision issues they are facing, hence, parents need to remain vigilant.

For overall eye safety, parents should also ensure that children wear sport-specific protective goggles, keep sharp objects and chemicals out of reach, and supervise the use of digital devices to help reduce strain.

जसबीर सिंह बंटी ने निगम बैठक में उठाया लावारिस शवों के संस्कार का मुद्दा

Chandigarh, August 26, 2025:-आज नगर निगम की हुई मीटिंग में सीनियर डिप्टी मेयर जसबीर सिंह बंटी ने लावारिस शवों के संस्कार का मुद्दा उठाया। जसबीर सिंह बंटी ने बताया कि मार्च 2024 की एफ एंड सी सी मीटिंग में एजेंडा पास किया गया था, जिसमें  लावारिस बॉडीज का संस्कार नगर निगम के जे ई को नोडल ऑफिसर बनाया गया जो सभी बॉडी का संस्कार करेगा।  बंटी ने बताया कि मगर न ही नगर निगम ने डेढ़ साल में किसी का संस्कार किया और ना ही अस्थियां विसर्जन की गई। जबकि पहले ऑल इंडिया सेवा समिति की तरफ से संस्कार किया जाता था,जोकि मात्र ₹830 रुपए दिए जाते थे। जबकि ₹400 एंबुलेंस के देते थे, ₹400 कपड़े के और ₹30 संस्कार के दिए जाते थे। मगर मार्च 2024 में एफ एंड सी सी 3.50 लाख पास करके को नोडल ऑफिसर बनाकर दे दी थी। जो पहले समिति थी जोकि 6 साल में 588 बॉडियों का संस्कार किया था। जिसका खर्चा 4 लाख 80 हजार के करीब था और  वही काम नगर निगम 6 साल में करती है  तो उसका खर्चा 21 लाख था  जबकि एजेंडा पास होने के बावजूद डेढ़ साल में कोई अस्थियों का विसर्जन नहीं हुआ। जब यह मतलब निगम में तो साथ के साथ अस्थियां का विसर्जन किया गया।  यह एक करप्शन का मसला दिख रहा है और आस्था से खिलवाड़ हो रहा है। जोकि अस्थियां डेढ़ साल में शमशान घाट में पड़ी हैं।इसके बाद मेयर ने एक कमेटी बनाकर मंगलवार को कमिश्नर साहब के साथ मीटिंग रख दी है और बैठक में जो पहले समिति थी, उसी को दोबारा से काम देने के लिए एजेंडा पास किया गया । इसको लेकर दूसरे पार्षदों ने भी बंटी का साथ दिया और मामले की गंभीरता को देखते हुए ऑफिसर्स पर बनती कार्रवाई करने को कहा गया।

26 Deserving School Students Gets Scholarship

Chandigarh, Aug 25, 2025:-  Twenty six brilliant and deserving students from three schools were awarded S. Tarlochan Singh Kohli Memorial Educational scholarship of Rs.10,000 at a function organised by Rotary Club Chandigarh here today.  

Rotary Club President Abha Sharma applauded the family of late S. Satbir Singh Kohli, who had taken it upon himself to perpetuate the memory of his late father S. Tarlochan Singh Kohli, and instituted the scholarship about five years back with Rotary Club Chandigarh, to perpetuate the legacy of educating the young minds. 

Mrs. Jagmohan Kaur Kohli wife of late S. Satbir Singh Kohli, gave away the prizes to the desrving children which included 14 girls and 12 boys from Government Senior Secondary School, Saketri village, Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 16, and Dev Samaj Sr Secondary School, Sector 45. 

Each student was given the first instalment of Rs.5,000 each through bank transfer and the remaining 50 percent of the amount shall be credited to the respective bank accounts of the students in December 2025.

Pitch Testing Held at Sector 16 Stadium ahead of CPL

Chandigarh, August 25, 2025:- In preparation for the highly anticipated Chandigarh Premier League (CPL) 2025, the Union Territory Cricket Association (UTCA) scheduled a pitch testing session at the Sector 16 Cricket Stadium on Monday. This crucial exercise is being undertaken to ensure that the playing surface is in prime condition ahead of the tournament opener on August 28.

The pitch testing involved assessment of soil hardness, grass cover, bounce and pace to align with BCCI's standards. Curators, ground staff, coaches and players  evaluated outfield conditions and drainage systems to provide the best possible environment. The players led by UT team's captain Manan Vohra, underwent bowling and batting practice from both ends of the pitch as part of the testing. 

UTCA's President Sanjay Tandon emphasized the importance of the exercise, stating that the stadium has always been central to Chandigarh's cricketing identity and the CPL will further showcase the city as a premier sports destination. He said that we are leaving no stone unturned to ensure the best playing conditions for cricketers and the best viewing experience for fans.

The CPL 2025 will feature six franchise-owned teams and promises to deliver 33 thrilling T20 matches including the semifinals and a grand finale on September 13. His Excellency, the Governor of Punjab and UT Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria will be inaguaring the league on August 26.

City Coach Sandeep Arora Selected for BCCI’s Hybrid Course at CoE, Bengaluru

Chandigarh, August 25, 2025:- The Union Territory Cricket Association (UTCA) today announced that its  coach Sandeep Arora has been selected to participate in the prestigious Hybrid Level-2 Coaches Course (Batch 27) being organised by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

The Level-2 programme being coordinated by the National Cricket Academy (NCA), Bengaluru will be adopting a hybrid model comprising three days of online sessions from September 1 to 3, 2025, followed by five days of onsite sessions from September 8 to 12, 2025 at the Centre of Excellence, Bengaluru.

Chandigarh, August 25, 2025:--ब्रह्माकुमारीज़ की पूर्व मुख्य प्रशासिका राजयोगिनी दादी प्रकाशमणि की 18वीं पुण्यतिथि (25 अगस्त 2025) को विश्व बंधुत्व दिवस के रूप में मनाया जा रहा है। इसी अवसर पर संस्थान का समाजसेवा प्रभाग पूरे भारत और नेपाल में 22 से 25 अगस्त तक विशाल रक्तदान शिविरों का आयोजन कर रहा है। अभियान के तहत डेढ़ लाख यूनिट रक्तदान का संकल्प लिया गया है।इसी कड़ी में आज सोमवार को ब्रह्माकुमारीज के विश्व कल्याण भवन, मनीमाजरा की ओर से भी रक्तदान शिविर का आयोजन किया गया। इस अवसर पर मुख्यातिथि नगर निगम के स्पेशल कमिश्नर प्रदीप कुमार ने रक्तदान शिविर का शुभारंभ किया। सेक्टर 16 जी एम एस एच के ब्लड ट्रांसफ्यूजन विभाग की डॉक्टर टीम द्वारा आयोजित इस अक्सर पर 60 से अधिक रक्त यूनिट एकत्रित हुए। रक्तवीरों को प्रमाण पत्र और गिफ्ट देकर सम्मानित किया गया। युवा से लेकर बुजुर्गों ने उत्साह से भाग लिया। इस अवसर पर चंडीगढ़ पुलिस के डी एस पी चरणजीत सिंह, डी एस पी दलबीर सिंह भिंडर,बीके प्रीति, बीके जसबीर सिंह जस्सी सहित अन्य भी उपस्थित थे।

शिविर का शुभारंभ करते हुए स्पेशल कमिश्नर प्रदीप कुमार ने कहा कि दान ही सबसे बड़ा बल है। दान केवल धन का ही नहीं होता, सबसे श्रेष्ठ दान है जीवनदान। रक्तदान उसी जीवनदान की श्रेणी में आता है। उन्होंने आगे कहा कि रक्तदाताओं को संस्था की ओर से उनके सराहनीय कदम के लिए दिए जा रहे पौधे भी पर्यावरण संरक्षण की दिशा में अच्छा कदम है। इससे लोग पर्यावरण संरक्षण के प्रति जागरूक भी होंगे। उन्होंने कहा कि यदि प्रत्येक युवा व्यक्ति साल में केवल दो बार भी रक्तदान करे तो देश में रक्त की कभी कमी नहीं होगी। 

विश्व कल्याण भवन, मनीमाजरा के प्रमुख बी के मनीष कौल ने रक्तदान को "मानवता, करुणा और सेवा की भावना का उत्सव" बताया। उन्होंने कहा कि "एक यूनिट रक्त से तीन से चार लोगों की जान बचाई जा सकती है। रक्तदान के 24–48 घंटों में शरीर में नया रक्त बनने लगता है, जिससे रक्त ताज़ा और स्वस्थ रहता है।"

यह शिविर न केवल रक्त की कमी को पूरा करेगा, बल्कि समाज में मानवता और बंधुत्व की भावना को भी सशक्त करेगा। साथ ही साथ जो आम लोग मे गलत धारण है कि रक्तदान से कमजोरी इत्यादी हो जाती है उसको भी खत्म करने का प्रयास किया गया।

इस दौरान रक्तदान शिविर में आने वाले लोगों का बीके मनीष कौल और प्रीति ने आत्मा परमात्मा के मिलन को लेकर पाठ्य सामग्री से मार्गदर्शन भी किया।

Chandigarh, August 25, 2025:-Filmfare hosted the Bhutani Filmfare Awards Punjabi 2025, co-presented by EaseMyTrip, at the I.S. Bindra PCA Stadium, Sector 63, Mohali on August 23, 2025. The grand celebration honoured the finest films and performances released between January 1, 2024, and December 31, 2024, marking yet another milestone in Filmfare's legacy of recognising cinematic brilliance.

The evening commenced by remembering the late legendary Jaswinder Bhalla, a stalwart of Punjabi cinema, whose unforgettable performances and unmatched contribution to comedy and storytelling have left an indelible mark on the industry and in the hearts of millions.The evening further unfolded with spectacular performances by Satinder Sartaaj, Jacqueline Fernandez, Maniesh Paul, Neeru Bajwa, Shehnaz Gill, Urvashi Rautela, BISMIL, Simran Choudhary, Soundarya Sharma, Nimrat Kaur Ahluwalia and Sunanda Sharma.

Bibi Rajni led the night with 9 awards, followed by Shayar with 4, while Ardaas Sarbat De Bhale Di and Warning 2 received 3 honours each. The coveted Black Lady for Best Film went to Ardaas Sarbat De Bhale Di. Best Actor in a Leading Role (Male) was awarded to Amrinder Gill, and Best Actor in a Leading Role (Female) to Neeru Bajwa. Amar Hundal was honoured with Best Director for Warning 2, while Jagjeet Sandhu received the Best Actor (Critics) award for Oye Bhole Oye. Roopi Gill was recognised as Best Actress (Critics) for Bibi Rajni. The night also honoured Guggu Gill, who received the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award with presenter Jimmy Shergill acknowledging his immense contribution to Punjabi cinema and culture. The standout moment of the evening was the honouring of Hans Raj Hans with the 'Living Legend' award.

Hosted by Maniesh Paul, Sunanda Sharma, Neeru Bajwa and Himanshi Khurana, the evening unfolded with the perfect blend of wit, glamour, and heartfelt tributes. The red carpet dazzled with a striking mix of traditional Punjabi elegance and contemporary flair, as celebrities arrived in their most stylish ensembles. Show-stopping appearances by Geeta Basra, Raj Kundra, Dil Amrit, Naiqra, Gurpreet Bhangu, Tina Ahuja, and Rabica Wadhawan added to the extravaganza, leaving the house-packed stadium roaring with energy.

Trident Group Extends Support to National Boxing Medalist Pooja Rani

Chandigarh, August 25, 2025:-As part of its commitment to empower grassroot talent, Trident Group, under the visionary leadership of its Chairman Emeritus Padma Shri Rajinder Gupta, has extended financial and institutional support to rising Indian boxing talent Pooja Rani, whose journey embodies resilience, determination, and an unyielding fighting spirit.

Competing in the under-19 category, Pooja hails from Barnala, Punjab. She began her training without proper facilities or equipment, often improvising by using a punching bag tied to a tree near her home. Despite these hardships, her perseverance and dedication enabled her to achieve significant success at the state and national levels.

Her notable achievements include a gold medal at the National Championship in Ranchi (2023), a silver medal at the National Championship in Chhattisgarh (2025), two silver medals at the Punjab State Games (Khedan Watan Punjab Dian), and a gold medal at the Federation State Championship.

Although her accomplishments have earned her recognition, financial constraints limited her opportunities to compete internationally. Recognizing her potential, Padma Shri Rajinder Gupta , Chairman Emeritus of Trident Group, awarded her a financial grant of ₹ 1,00,000 and pledged continued sponsorship to support her future in boxing.
