Heartfelt Gesture by UT Cricket Association for Special Children

Chandigarh, April 25, 2025:- In a heartwarming initiative, the UT Cricket Association organized a special match under the aegis of the Gully Cricket Tournament at GMSSS-26 on Friday which was dedicated to special children.

Team No. 2 led by Ashray emerged victorious with a commanding 48-run win over Team No. 1. Ashray led from the front with a brilliant captain's knock by scoring 36 runs off just 19 balls. His team posted a total of 75/1 in eight overs. In reply, the team led by Sahil was restricted to 27/6.

The match witnessed an outpouring of joy and enthusiasm with parents, classmates and the UTCA management lauding the spirit and sportsmanship of all players involved.

Harshuinder Pal Singh Brar, Director, School Education graced the occasion as the chief guest and felicitated both teams.

The exhibition matches are set to begin this Saturday, featuring an exciting lineup. In the opening match, the Punjab University team will face off against Tax Advocates XI. The second match will have Mayor XI comprising city councillors who will take on IG XI, featuring top police officials of the city. The occasion will be graced by distinguished guests including Rajya Sabha MP Satnam Singh Sandhu, Home Secretary Mandeep Singh Brar, Finance Secretary Diprava Lakra, and Professor Renu Vig in the presence of UTCA President Sanjay Tandon.

Meanwhile a total of 27 routine matches of the gully cricket tournament was played at across nine venues of the city.
