The Safai Karamchari Hold Rosh Rally to Gherao MC office:

Chandigarh 07^th August:-- The Safai Karamchari Union, Chandigarh has organized a Vishal Protest Rally (Agitation Rally) here today on Wednesday. The Rally has started from MOH Office and finished at Municipal Corporation, Office Sector-17 Chandigarh. The Members of the Union gherao the office of the Municipal Council and condemn the anti safai karamchari policies. More than 2000 safai karamchari took part in the Rally.  While addressing to the gathering of the Safai Karamchari President of the Union Krishan Kumar Chadha, Advisor of the Union Brijpal Bawa, President of SS Federation Ranjit Singh Hans,  UT, Chief Secretary of SS Federation Rajinder Kumar, Advisor of the Union Brijpal Bawa, Maha Singh Atwal, Pala Ram,  K.P.Khairwal, Yashpal and Leela Ram has criticized the policies, which are against the safai karamchari. The Leaders of the Union has blamed, that the MC Official has ignored the demands of the employees and the policies of Partiality has been set for the employees. They have demanded that, the procedure to be set for permanent job to the 134 family members of those employees, who have expired during the duty hours, 1328 backlog vacant posts may be filled up, they have also added that the safai karamchari, who are working on contractual basis from the last so many years, may be treated as permanent employees as per the Punjab Act, along with facility of DA as per the DC rates. The President of the Union, Krishan Kumar Chadha, and others leaders together warn the Administration and the Officials of the MC, that if the above mentioned of their demands will not be fulfill at the earliest, then the protest activities will be initiated in more power in the whole city and the Garbage Pickup van will neither be allowed to enter the city, nor exit from the city, in result the whole Garbage of the City, will be gathered there. The Administration and Municipal Council will be held responsible for the same.
