Chandigarh, Sept. 22, 2025:- Former Chandigarh Municipal Corporation councilor Shakti Prakash Devshali expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for gifting the countrymen with reduced GST rates on the auspicious occasion of Navratri. He said that the Modi government has not only given the country a new direction for development and progress, but has also ensured economic relief and better savings opportunities for the common man.

Devshali said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given the country a major gift before Deepawali by reducing GST on approximately 375 items. This will result in savings in every household and will directly benefit 1.4 billion citizens. The reduction in GST rates has made essential goods and services even cheaper, strengthening consumers' pockets. Even before this, under public welfare schemes, the Central Government has been providing essential medicines to the general public at affordable rates under the Jan Aushadhi Yojana. Under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, millions of families have benefited from LPG connections and subsidies. Under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, account holders are provided with free insurance and pension benefits for a secure future. Under the Ayushman Bharat Yojana, free health insurance up to ₹5 lakh has resulted in significant savings for middle-class families. Through Digital India and Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), 100% of the scheme funds are being directly distributed to beneficiaries by eliminating middlemen.

Devashali said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi firmly believes that the government's goal is not only development work, but also to provide convenience, affordable living, and a secure future to every citizen. Good days will be considered complete only when household savings increase and every family feels safe. He said that the Modi government has provided relief and stability to the countrymen by ushering in "safe and saving days" along with development and progress.
