Brookfield International School Showcases Handloom Crafts to Celebrate National Handloom Day

Mohali, August 8, 2025:- Brookfield International School, Siswan Road, celebrated National Handloom Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit. The school paid tribute to the skilled weavers of India by organizing a special handloom exhibition on campus. The exhibition featured handwoven products from various Indian states, allowing young students to witness India's rich textile heritage up close. The highlight of the day was an educational session titled 'Vastra Katha', where children learned the intricate journey of fabric – from raw cotton to thread and the magical process of weaving that transforms it into beautiful textiles.

To make the celebration both memorable and educational, various activities were organized. Students got hands-on experience with basic weaving techniques and participated in a special arts and crafts session that encouraged them to design their own miniature handloom patterns. The event concluded with a cultural program, including a fashion show where students proudly showcased traditional handloom outfits.

School President Manav Singla, speaking on the occasion, emphasized the importance of preserving this ancient craft. He said that  National Handloom Day is not just about fabrics, it is about honoring the artistry, dedication, and legacy of our weavers. By involving our children in such events, we aim to instill a deep respect for our traditions and pride in our rich cultural heritage.
