Mohali, August 8, 2025:-The Kindergarten wing of Gian Jyoti Global School, Phase 2, celebrated Raksha Bandhan with immense joy and enthusiasm. The festivities began with a special assembly conducted by the Nursery students, creating a cheerful atmosphere for the day. The children of the UKG class displayed their creativity by making eco-friendly rakhis. In a heartfelt gesture towards nature, they tied these rakhis to trees, sending a message to protect them in return for the life-giving oxygen they provide. This activity was a creative way to instill a sense of environmental responsibility in the young students. Nursery students participated in a rakhi-making activity, while the Playgroup children, dressed in colorful attire, tied rakhis to each other and shared sweets, strengthening their bonds of friendship. Other activities included a storytelling session about the significance of Raksha Bandhan and a group song presentation.
Speaking on the occasion, School Principal Gianjot said that celebrating festivals like Raksha Bandhan not only helps our children understand the importance of our traditions but also teaches them the values of love, compassion, and responsibility. The eco-friendly initiative by our students is a commendable step towards creating a greener and more conscious generation.
Principal Director Ranjit Bedi added that it is also the responsibility of educational institutions to keep children connected with our culture. At Gian Jyoti School, our effort has always been to provide modern education while also keeping students aware of our heritage. This celebration provided a wonderful platform for our students to learn about our traditions and become more aware of their role in protecting the environment.
