Mohali, July 25, 2025:--Ashmah International School, Sector 70, in association with Rotary Club Chandigarh, celebrated Van Mahotsav today by planting various types of trees and plants in and around the school campus. The school children wholeheartedly participated in the event and pledged to look after the trees they planted. They also promised to plant trees in the city wherever feasible to find appropriate land for plantation.
Principal Suchi Grover expressed her happiness over the active participation of the students, stating that Van Mahotsav is not just about planting saplings but also serves as a reminder of our collective responsibility towards Mother Earth. Watching our students plant trees with such enthusiasm and participate in discussions on environmental care gives us great hope for a brighter, greener future.
Director J.S. Kesar emphasized the school's commitment to environmental education, said that we motivate the new generation to take concrete steps in keeping their surroundings clean and green. If they start this noble work at school and at home, it will give new direction to society. We must act in time, otherwise future generations will have to face severe consequences of environmental neglect. He further discouraged the usage of paper bags and encouraged making the city plastic-free. The event concluded with a renewed pledge by the school to encourage environmental awareness and take active steps towards a greener and more sustainable future.
