Tree Plantation Drive organized at Govt. College of Education, Chandigarh

Chandigarh, July 12, 2024:-Parijat Eco Club of Government College of Education, Sector 20 Chandigarh organized a tree plantation drive today on the occasion of Van Mahotsav in the college campus in collaboration with Department of Environment, Chandigarh Administration.

The Chief Guest of the day was Chander Bhan Ojha, Chief Engineer Chandigarh administration, Chandigarh along with other senior officials of Engineering Department of Chandigarh Administration. Principal Dr. Sapna Nanda welcomed the Chief Guest and other guests followed by initiating the drive by planting the samplings along with the Chief Guest and faculty members of the college.

The officials from the Engineering Department present on the occasion included Smt. Jigna S.E Civil. , Dr. Rajesh Bansal, S.E-P.H., Ranjeet Singh S.E – Electrical, XEN Suresh Kumar C.B. Div. 3, Sardar Gurpreet Singh Bains E.E. I, Sahil Sharma E.E -  PH – 3,  Navraj Singh (Horticulture), S.D. E. Sarwan Singh (Civil), Avtar Singh (Electrical), J.E  Balbir Singh (civil) & Tarun Kumar Saini (Electical) were also present on the occasion. Special Guest of the day Mukesh Garg & Tree man Rahul Mahajan were also present on the occasion.

Two beautiful fountains were also inaugurated by the Chief Guest in the lush green lawns of Government College of Education during the tree plantation drive.

Dr. Sapna Nanda congratulated the Senior faculty members Dr. Mukhtiar Singh, Dr. Lilu Ram , Dr. Neelam Paul and  Eco club incharge Dr. Ravinder Kumar, other faculty members and students for the successful organization of the tree plantation drive. She also emphasized upon the need of planting more and more trees to save our environment and earth from pollution and climate change. Principal and faculty of the college applauded the efforts of Engineering Department for up gradation and maintenance of the college campus and expressed their sincerest gratitude for the continuous support and concerted efforts for maintaining highest standards of infrastructure development.
