Satya Darshna Charitable Trust (Regd.) organises Blood Donation Camp to Help Patients Suffering from Thalassemia

Chandigarh Nov.17, 2023:- Satya Darshna Charitable Trust (Regd.) organised the eighth blood donation camp on the death anniversary of Late Satya Narain Garg in Sector 22 under the leadership of Trust President Jagmohan Garg in which 666 units of blood were collected.

On this occasion, Trust President Jagmohan Garg said that ne needs to prepare oneself for blood donation, organ donation, body donation, and make others aware about the same. The objective of the camp was to collect blood from donors for use by needy Thalassemia patients and to make the city residents aware about organ and body donation. At the camp registrations of people desirous of donating their organs and bodies for the benefit of people in need were also made.

On this occasion, senior RSS Pracharak and social worker Premji Goyal participated as the Principal Spokesperson and Speaker, Haryana Vidhan Sabha Gian Chand Gupta as the chief guest.

While congratulating Satya Darshna Charitable Trust for organising the mega blood donation camp, Gian Chand Gupta said that such camps provide a new direction to the youth and inspire them to give something back to society. Such initiatives also make youth more sensitive towards the importance of 'sacrificing' for the benefit of others.

As many as sixteen(16) people pledged to donate their organs and seven (7) their bodies. There were twelve(12) registrations made for eye donation.  

Garg informed that he has been organizing this camp for the last 7 years and that this was the 8th edition of the camp.  The camp he said is organised every year to commemorate the death anniversary of his father Satya Narain Garg.
 
Jagmohan Garg added that medical science has progressed so much in today's era that it has brought about a revolution in the field of organ donation which can be instrumental in saving lives. In such a situation, we all should come forward to help others and prepare ourselves for organ donation and make others aware about this noble cause.

On this occasion, dignitaries also presented their views on the topic of blood donation and organ donation, which was highly appreciated by everyone. The camp played a pivotal role in spreading awareness about the importance of blood donation and organ donation.

Hon'ble Justice Rajesh Bhardwaj, Administrative Judge, Punjab and Haryana High Court; Sanjeev Kalra (IPS), DGP, Punjab; Anup Gupta, Mayor, Chandigarh; Dr. Ashok Kumar Attri, Director of Government Medical College and Hospital(GMCH) Sector 32; and Mridul (IPS), SP (City), Chandigarh were present as guests' of honour in the camp. Bhajan Samrat Kanhaiya Mittal, Brand Ambassador of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Chandigarh - also graced the camp with his presence. During the camp, Kanhaiya Mittal sang melodious hymns of Lord Balaji. All the dignitaries were welcomed by the Trust members by giving them bouquets of flowers and it was a successful drive to collect blood for the needy.
