Chandigarh, July 30, 2023:-Block Congress Committee Ramdarbar of chandigarh congress today organised a peaceful mashall protest march in Ramdarbar and industrial area phase 2 to express solidarity with the people of Manipur who are suffering for the past almost three months now.
The residents and activists of the Congress party carrying placards marched peacefully on the streets of Ramdarbar colony .
H s Lucky President Chandigarh Congress while addressing the protestors said that the situation in Manipur was very bad . Thousands of People have been forced to fled their homes to save their lives . Many have been killed and many are missing. The law and order situation has become bad to worse. Many houses have been burnt and normal life has come to standstill. The government is just doing lip service and the state is burning with no relief in immediate future added Lucky.
He further demanded that the central government should immediately provide maximum relief to the people of Manipur and ensure their life and liberty.
Parveen narang bunty President District Congress Committee urban 3 said that it was indeed shameful to see that women in Manipur are being subjected to very inhuman treatment and their lives are no longer secured there.
Sonia gurcharan singh Block president of Ramdarbar Congress Committee said that she was aghasted to see the recent videos on social media on Manipur and was feeling shocked to see the plight of women. Modi government has failed to protect the women of the country which has been seen in many cases in the recent past and the slogan of beti bachao beti padao seems totally hollow .
Among others present included Rajiv moudgil, yadvinder mehta, rajdeep sidhu, barinder Roy, Gurcharan singh, B m khanna , Merry , Victor, manish Lamba, nitin kawal , rano,sonu , om pal chautala, jaswant pal , Ashish verma, Tara chand etc.
