Chandigarh Dec.21, 2021:- Chandigarh Congress has complained to State Election Commission against BJP to influence the voters by wrong means. In a letter to State Election Commission Chandigarh, Rajesh Sharma, the spokesperson of Chandigarh Congress alleged that BJP took out a vehicle rally and a procession consisting of dozens of cars and motorcycles with party flags on them along with loudspeakers and drum-beaters in Sector 35 on Tuesday.
Letter stated that the rally also had dozens of lathi wielding workers, triple riding on two-wheelers without helmets, shouting and raising slogans. They created ruckus on the roads thus putting the commuters to grave inconvenience and created chaos on the city roads in presence of its party candidate from the ward Neha Arora in gross violation of not only the law of the land, the traffic rules but against the model code of conduct also.
This is a clear violation of the model code of conduct which is surprisingly being done without any check by the election commission, said the letter.
Letter further stated that Congress party has earlier also made complaints of instances of violation of code of conduct by opposite parties, but commission has not informed about the action taken thereon as of now.
The letter requested that appropriate legal action should be immediately taken against BJP, its candidates and supporters, so that the impartiality and credibility of the election commission is not questioned, and the action taken thereupon be intimated to the undersigned.
