Chandigarh Dec.15, 2021:- Bharitya Janta Party (BJP) continues with its spree of welcoming leaders in their fold as dozens of leaders hailing from Congress employees union – INTUC joined the party. Chandigarh Subordinate Services Federation officially announced their support to BJP by breaking its tie with INTUC during a press conference held at Kamalam – BJP Party Office in Sector 33 on Wednesday. BJP Unit president Arun Sood welcomed the trade union in the presence of former BJP president Sanjay Tandon, Co-Incharge for the MC Election and Rajya Sabha MP Indu Bala Goswami and Mayor Ravi Kant Sharma. Those who inducted into the BJP includes INTUC's State Vice President and Congress Organizing Secretary Harjinder Singh, former INTUC President Kulbir Singh, former INTUC President, INTUC General Secretary and Sector-24 RWA Chairman Harbhajan Singh, Furniture Market, President Mohan Lal Maurya, Anil Kumar from Shastri Market and others joined the BJP Camp.
Speaking on the occasion, BJP President Arun Sood said that the group housing scheme which was put on hold by the Congress has been revived by the BJP. During the tenure of BJP, it was decided to provide jaggery (gur), oil and soap to the cleaning workers working on contract on the lines of regular employees. During this tenure, a proposal to confirm the contract employees has been passed and sent to the administration which will be confirmed soon. Sood said that under Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, all Group D employees of the corporation, door to door waste collectors and employees working on contract have been provided insurance cover.
INTUC leaders said that being associated with the Congress, so many decisions have never been taken in the interest of the employees. An utter sense of dissatisfaction with Congress has brought them into the BJP.
