Punjab Girls Enter into the Quarter Final of BCCI Women’s U-19 One Day Trophy after Defeating Odisha

Chandigarh, October 05, 2021:- Punjab finished their Elite-E league in first place with 20 points, riding on back-to-back wins in the league stage.

Punjab State Women's Under 19 Years Team today played their fifth Inter-State match for Women's U-19 One Day Trophy 2021-22 against Odisha Cricket Association U-19 at K.L Saini Stadium, Jaipur.

Odisha CA won the toss and elected to bat first.  Batting first Odisha CA Women's U-19 scored 141 runs for 7 wickets in their 50 overs. Skipper Subhra Nirjharini Swain scored 60 runs off 114 balls with eight boundaries, Alipsa Biswal scored 23 runs off 63 balls with four boundaries and G M Alakananda made 22 runs off 54 balls with two boundaries were the main run-getters for Odisha CA. Mannat Kashyap 3 / 28 and Priyanka 2 / 20 were the most successful wicket-takers for Punjab CA.

Replying Punjab girls achieved the target in the 47th over and scored 144 for loss of 8 wickets. Pragati Singh scored 56 runs off 79 balls with four boundaries and Priyanka unbeaten 22 runs off 64 balls with one boundary were the highest run-getters for Punjab. Subhra Nirjharini Swain 2 / 19 and Tanmayee Behera 2 / 24 were the main wicket-takers for Odisha.
