Chandigarh October 14, 2021:- Department of Science of Guru Gobind Singh College for Women, Sector 26, Chandigarh organized a visit to CSIO-ISTC, Sector 30, Chandigarh on 13th October 2021. The visit was aimed at making students aware of the latest industry oriented skill-based programs.
An expert talk was delivered by the Principal , ISTC and the Principal Scientist, Narinder Singh Jassal, on various programs available in the institute and apprised the students of the DSIR scheme, PRISM, for the students under which an innovator can avail a grant of Rs 20 lakh to convert an idea into a product and then establish his/her own industry of developed products after receiving a grant of Rs 70 lakh.
25 students accompanied by the faculty members visited the various labs like mechatronics, electrical, digital electronics and robotics etc. in the training institute. It was co-ordinate by Sanjay Kumar, a faculty member of CSIO- ISTC.
Students were given live demonstrations of the various instruments and machines.
The Principal, Dr. Jatinder Kaur, appreciated the efforts of Dr. Sujata Vohra, Head, Department of Science, in organising this visit and enlightening the students about various skill-based programs.
