Half Marathon by 2 Chd BN NCC on 02 Oct for Fit India Freedom Run 2.0

Chandigarh Sept.30, 2021:- Fit India Freedom Run 2.0 movement was launched on 13 Aug 21 and will terminate on 02 Oct 21.

The cadets of 2 Chandigarh Battalion NCC have been running every day since 21 Aug and have logged 3654 kms till date under the overall guidance and training of Col Umakant Sharma, Commanding officer. Lt Nikhlesh Thakur of DAV College is the personal coach who himself has logged in more kms than the cadets running an average of 10 kms daily while Second Officer Poonam Rana has contributed more than 5 kms everyday towards overall mileage of the battalion.

The event culminated with a Half Marathon of 21 kms being organized on 02 Oct 21 as part of the Freedom Run 2.0. 50 Cadets of 10 colleges and 20 schools under the battalion will take part in the run which will start from Sukhna Lake and go around the chandigarh golf course, circumventing the Rose Garden and finishing at Bougainvillea park.  The cadets are enthusiastic for this half marathon as they have been running for the past one month everyday and practicing for this event. The battalion has logged into the Fit India Freedom Portal and has been updating the kilometers covered daily by cadets.

The cadets will spread the message of importance of fitness in today's fast paced world and urge everyone to take up fitness activity for maintaining health.
