Chandigarh March 25, 2021:- To motivate students for entrepreneurship and development of innovative business ideas Desh Bhagat University has established Institution Innovation Council (IIC) as per the norms of Innovation cell, Ministry of Education, Govt. of India. Chancellor of the University Dr. Zora Singh congratulated all the students and staff of the university for IIC and said that these types of programs motivate the students and faculty to engage them in the ecosystem of innovation not only at the institution level but at the national level.
Giving details about the program, a spokesperson of the university said here today that the IIC program was launched in November 2018 by the Ministry of Education in collaboration with the All India Council for Technical Education. For the creation of 'Institution's Innovation Council (IICs)' across the Ministry of Education selected some Universities and Higher education institutes and Desh Bhagat University, Mandi Gobindgarh is one of the Selected Universities.
IIC in Desh Bhagat University will help students to incubate the business ideas by conducting various innovation and entrepreneurship-related activities, IIC will Organize periodic workshops/ seminars/ interactions with entrepreneurs, investors, professionals, and a mentor pool will be created for student innovators. The institution's Innovation portal is going to be created to spotlight innovative projects administered by the institution's faculty and students.
