Chandigarh 28th July:- Thalassaemic Children Welfare Association (Regd.) PGIMER-GMCH Chandigarh organized its 177th Voluntary Blood Donation Camp in PGI Chandigarh. It is this Association's eighth Blood Donation Camp in this series of Blood Donation Camps organized during summer month, when acute shortage of blood is faced by Blood Bank of PGI, owing to non-availability of enough donors due to exams-vacations in school/colleges.
This Camp was inaugurated by Gopal K Wadhwa, Chairman, Jullundur Hotel-22 & Hotel JH EI8GHTEEN, Chandigarh. He is a well known Philanthropist and Hotelier of city beautiful Chandigarh, who has not only been providing financial and moral support to our Charitable NGO for decades, but also participating alongwith family members, relatives and Hotel Staff for donating blood in our Camps. During this camp, Chief Guest Gopal K Wadhwa and his family also donated blood. May God Bless whole family a good health long lives and prosperity.
In this Camp 278 voluntary blood donors donated blood for Blood Bank of PGI Chandigarh. While honouring the blood donors by handing over mementoes to them, he applauded them for participating in this noble cause of blood donation and also for promoting Blood Donation Movement in the country. In the above mentioned 8 Blood Donation Camps organized by the Association an aggregate of 1897 numbers of voluntary blood donors donated blood.
