By 121 News

Chandigarh 06th November:- Bharat Interface for Money (BHIM), the revolutionary app developed by National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) is currently live for customers of 58 banks across the country. The app which was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 30, 2016 has emerged as a preferred choice for millions of people who admire the app due to the convenience offered to the users.

BHIM works 24X7 and money gets transferred directly to the user's bank account. One can also make a payment by scanning QR code. The other useful feature of the app is that one can even initiate a collect request for funds to any BHIM or Unified Payments Interface (UPI) app user.

Using the BHIM app one can even split and share bills with their contacts, set payment reminders for convenience and also download transaction statements for reference. Features such as marking unidentified collect requests as spam also brings in incremental security.

BHIM can also be referred to friends and family members. The advantage is that the referrer as well as the referee receives reward in the form of incentive after completion of certain number of transactions.

The referrer needs to encourage the referee to download the BHIM App and enter the referrer's mobile number as the referral code. For both referrer and referee to get their reward, the referee has to make minimum three transactions totaling to a minimum value of Rs. 50. On successful completion of the process, the referrer would get Rs. 25 and the referee who does the payment would also get Rs. 25.

Android users can download BHIM app from Google Play Store while iPhone users may find the app Apple App Store. Once the app is downloaded, one needs to set their UPI PIN, UPI ID and start transacting with this app. One needs to remember two things while using it. Firstly, to link the mobile number to bank account and secondly, while transacting, the SIM card of the mobile number linked to the bank account should be used in the mobile handset.

Using the BHIM app one can send as well as receive money without visiting the bank branch. The app is available in many regional languages. Users can browse through their phone contacts to select beneficiaries for sending and receiving money instantly. BHIM App has also made payment at merchant locations simpler by enabling 'Scan & Pay' feature through QR code.
