Deputy Commissioner Inaugurates Cancer Awareness Camp

Chandigarh 08th March:- To marks the International Women's Day, which celebrates the achievements of women in all spheres of life.   On this occasion, Ajit Balaji Joshi, Deputy Commissioner, U.T, Chandigarh today inaugurated the cancer awareness camp for women under the banner of Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao-Desh Badhao at Government hospital Sector-16, Chandigarh. The Camp was a joint project of U.T Red Cross and Department of radiotherapy, PGIMER.

Ajit Balaji Joshi appreciated the effort and highlighted the need for such events to increase the health awareness among women. He further said that women have now become active participants in all walks of life and they are believed to have their aspirations, abilities and qualities as men have.

Ajit Balaji Joshi flagged off the emergency van (ambulance) which was donated to the hospital by Red Cross Society, Chandigarh. He further said that Chandigarh Administration is always ready for the help and announced, soon a mobile app would be launched through which doctors could be consulted for appointments and medical consultations.
