Chandigarh 24th December:- Deputy Commissioner, Chandigarh Ajit Balaji Joshi, along with Prince Dhawan Assistant Estate Officer has called a meeting of Traders Association, Industry Association and Property Consultant Association at his office for discussion & suggestions on Reduction of Collectorate in Chandigarh.

Kamaljit Singh Panchhi President of Chandigarh Traders Association Sector 17 said that there is long outstanding demand of Traders, Industrialists and Residents of Chandigarh to revise (Downwards) the rates of Collectorate in Chandigarh as the existing rates are mismatch to the market actual rates.  In fact the rates in the adjoining Tricity are much below to the rates in Chandigarh which can be evident from the revenue receipt during last 3-4 years.

L.C Arora Gen Secy of Chandigarh Traders Association Sector 17 said in Chandigarh collectorates were increased at 10% on 15.9.2012 which were tolerated by Public.  However the increase to the extent of 50% on 3.8.2013 bringing the rates from  54912.00 per sq. yds to   82368.00 was unduly hike and  was complete mismatch to the market price.
