Chandigarh 10th December:- The Adviser to the Administrator, Vijay Dev inaugurated the Garden of Springs, Sector-53, today. Adviser to the Administrator appreciated the efforts put forth by Engineering and Architect Department for their contribution for setting up the garden. He dedicated the Garden of Springs, Sector-53, chandigarh to the citizens of southern sectors as well as to the surroundings citizens of the Punjab.
While addressing the gathering Vijay Dev said that this Garden not only cater the public of Chandigarh but also of Mohali. He said that more and more steps are taken towards the beautification of southern sectors. He said that asministration is trying very hard to beautify the all the entry points of Chandigarh, where peoples are entering in the city. He said he clearly instruct all the officials of the administrations keep regular maintenances of the Garden. Vijay Dev said that in near future more such type of parks and Gardens will be built in the southern sectors.
Anurag Agarwal, Home Secretary-cum-Secretary Tourism was present on the occasion and appreciated the concentrated efforts put in by the Engineering Department, Chandigarh Administration, Chandigarh Tourism and the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India in the existence of Garden of Springs. He further informed that the Garden of Springs consists of various varieties of flowers, blooming trees, Tourist Huts and benches, Walkways for Tourists, Artistic Bridges over the rivulet for convenience of tourists, Public Toilets and parking facility. He further informed that to promote Tourism in Chandigarh, similar garden in southern sector namely Garden of Conifer, Sector-52, Chandigarh shall be opened soon for the public which will further promote Chandigarh as a destination of "A City of Greens & Gardens".
On this occasion, Jitender Yadav, Director Tourism, Ms. Tapasya Raghav, SDM East, Kapil Setia, Chief Architect, S.K. Chadha, Chief Engineer and senior officers of Chandigarh Administration and Darshan Garg, Area Councillor were also present.
