Chandigarh 15th May:- 'Empyrean World' - A Women's Couture Label, launched its summer line of Creative 'Sarees' & unique Rajasthani Dupattas in Chandigarh. An exhibition of the same has also been put up which will be on from May 15 till 17 in Hotel Aroma, Chandigarh. Owner of the label is Ms Swati Bishnoi a lawyer turned fashion designer. Presently settled in Delhi she decided to put up her maiden exhibition in Chandigarh from where she did her law degree. The range of 'Sarees' was showcased in style by models.
Ms. Swati Bishnoi said that her Summer Saree collection is contemporary where traditional designs have also been given a sophisticated make-over. She noticed that young women and those going to work these days do not prefer to wear 'Sarees' as everyone feels that a 'Saree' is always the preferred apparel for parties & weddings. She wants to change this thinking, as she feels a 'Saree' if designed suitably is a very elegant office dress too. Swati added that she is trying by her small effort to make the 'Saree' -- a symbol of India's rich culture; a preferred attire for the workplace. The range displayed at my Exhibition is simple & refined.
According to the Swati though she did not go to a fashion school to learn fashion designing she had an innate capability, talent & a burning desire to become a fashion designer. After her law degree she assisted with fashion designers in Delhi and then launched her label. In the range at the exhibition either Chiffon Blends or Pure Cotton, have been used as the fabric while designing the 'Sarees', so that those who wear the same are comfortable even in the sweltering heat. There are Sarees available that have an element of bling also associated. Traditional work like Zari, Dabka, Bead & Kundan has been used to make Sarees that could be worn to parties, used for morning wear and can be donned as evening wear too.
The line of 'Sarees' unveiled by Swati at her exhibition, boasts of use of a very summerish & appealing colour range. Pastel colours, shaded cotton and light simple shades of Chiffon blends renders the collection quite enticing. The blouses to go with the 9-yard-wonder drape have been designed for comfort and there are Printed blouses too.
The price range of 'Sarees' available at the exhibition is quite competitive as it starts at Rs 2500 with the most expensive one costing Rs 13500. The exhibition has a wide variety of ethnic & ethereal collection of 'Sarees' and also offers a beautiful range of Rajasthani Dupattas.
Exhibition is on till from May 15 till May 17 at Hotel Aroma, Sector-22, Chandigarh from 10 AM-8 PM.
