Business Opportunities galore in Nottingham :David Bishop

Chandigarh 24th November:-David Bishop, Corporate Director-Development, Nottingham City Council remarked that cost- competitive location, largest pure freight airport, readily available highly skilled labour force, well laid off road and rail infrastructure, central location, all clubbed together, make Nottingham City an ideal location for trade and investment. David Bishop was speaking during the Roundtable on "Trade & Investment Opportunities with Nottingham City Council, United Kingdom (UK)" organized here, today, by PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry to provide information about various business opportunities that exists with Nottingham, UK and to encourage bilateral trade, investment & collaborations between India & Nottingham. 

The delegation from Nottingham City Council included David Bishop, Corporate Director-Development, Nottingham City Council,  Councellor Nick McDonald, Cabinet Member for Jobs and Growth, Nottingham   City Council, Thalej Vasishta, Senior Solicitor and Managing Director Paragon Law, Charanjiv Bachhar, Deputy Head of the Mission, British Deputy High Commission, Chandigarh, Ms Samantha Hopwell, International Strategy Manager, Nottingham city council and Ms Shivani Sharma, Adviser, Knowledge Economy, British Deputy High Commission, Chandigarh. The delegation gave key insights to the participants regarding UK which is the fourth largest trading partner of India and mentioned that Nottingham is a perfect investment platform for Indian companies keen to tap opportunities in the growing UK market due to its strategic location advantage and immense connectivity.

McDonald, Cabinet Member for Jobs and Growth, Nottingham   City Council, said that Nottingham's central UK location is a key advantage for businesses that locate themselves there with most of the UK's regions within a two-hour road journey. Nottingham is a top European City for science, technology, innovation and creativity.  It's a city focused on business success.

Dalip Sharma, Director, PHD Chamber said, that the future prospects for trade and investment between India and UK are significant. The inbuilt complimentary of the economies of both our countries offers innumerable opportunities and it is important that we build on the existing strong relations.He also stressed on the fact that it is important to accelerate our efforts for the growth of bilateral economic cooperation, particularly in view of the current economic scenario. There is a need for greater synergy of efforts between the business communities of both the countries to accelerate the two way cooperation.

Thalej Vasishta, Senior Solicitor and Managing Director Paragon Law, while delving into the details said IT, Education, Infrastructure, Life Sciences and Healthcare, Digital Media, Clean technology and Data Analytics etc., Financial and Business Services are key areas for collaborating, partnering, and building business ties with counterparts in Nottingham.
