Higher education in Canada sought after: Nearly 500 students register at Canadian Education Fair

Chandigarh 14th September:- As many as 25 Canadian Colleges & Universities were participated today in 'Study in Canada Mega Education Fair'. The fair which was organized by Charms Education & Immigration Services Pvt. Ltd, was an indicator that students' who want to pursue graduate and post graduate courses abroad, are seriously eyeing Canada.

 Rahul Paitka, MD, Charms Education & Immigration Services Pvt Ltd said, that we have got a very good response. Prospective students had a fruitful session with admission heads of different Canadian Institutes. Many of them have registered for courses and now our company will provide admission and visa guidance to them. We will hold similar fairs on Sep 15 at Hotel Fortune Park Klassik, Ludhiana and on Sep 16 at Hotel Holiday Inn, Amritsar.

According to Ms. Krista Pearson, Registrar, International Sault College, Marie (Ontario), With new rules taking effect, there is a provision now for students to work off campus for 20 hours a week. We at International Sault College also offer on campus work opportunities as this makes it easier for Indian students as they do not have to go out of campus to work after study hours. Derek Lemieux, International Partner Relations Coordinator, Wilfrid Laurier University, Brantford (Ontario), said that we have unique undergraduate programmes. In these Music Therapy & Photonics are in demand. We specialise in offering double degree courses which last for 5 years." Ms. Tanya Sehgal, International Recruitment & Admissions Coordinator Kwantlen Polytechnic University, Surrey, (British Columbia) said, "Our University is a Government funded Public University and the 5th largest in British Columbia. We offer the 2nd largest business programme across Western Canada. The response has been the best for our courses from Chandigarh and Delhi. According to Harwinder Singh a prospective student, that the fair has played a very important role in imparting knowledge about the best courses on offer in the Canadian Higher Education sector.  At the education fair student admission and visa processing queries were answered. Some special offers were made to students enrolling for January & May 2015 intake. Many Institutes offered application fee waiver, on the spot admissions, assessments etc. Information on scholarships for meritorious students was also shared.
