Mohali 12th September:- In accordance with the directions of Chief Minister Punjab Parkash Singh Badal, district administration with the help of SGPC & others will dispatch 50000 food packets for flood victims at Jammu & Kashmir. This was stated by Deputy Commissioner Tejinder Pal Singh Sidhu during non-formal communication with press while he was dispatching the first lot of 5000 food packets for flood victims.
Tejinder Pal Singh Sidhu said that these food packets will be dispatched by road to Chandigarh air port & from there it will be delivered to the flood victims by air. He said that these food packets are being prepared at Gurudwara Amb Sahib, as a camp for donating goods for flood victims have been setup at here. Tejinder Pal Singh Sidhu said that besides this, biscuits, juice, drinking water & blankets will also be dispatched. During this, Additional Deputy Commissioner Smt. Poonamdeep kaur, SDM Lakhmir Singh, under training tehsildar Gurjinder Singh & other officers of district administration were present.
On this occasion Siromani Akali Dal Organizing Secretary Amrik Singh said that for providing food packets, Lions Club, Sunny Baba Industry, Raja Kanwarjot Singh Mohali, Surjeet Singh Matharu & Swarn Singh Bhullar has contributed a lot.
