Mohali 22nd April:-- Shemrock Sen. Sec. School Mohali celebrated World
Earth Day with fervour at its campus. The students delivered the
message to Save our Mother Earth through a wonderful play enacted by
students of class-9th. Students visualized exploitation of resources
in modern times ,which will lead to diseases and disasters. They also
danced to the tunes of the song "We are in it together" praising our
planet. Later, poster making competition was held for older students
. First of all students denoted the meaning of World Earth Day then
teachers also gave information about the origin of the earth and a
documentary on natural resources was also presented.
After that students of kindergarten participated in fancy dress
competition which was centre of attraction for all .In poster making
competition children wrote different captions to save natural
resources which can naturally be a positive action to save mother
earth .students while takings different placards made by them went to
neighbouring houses and urged residents to not to use plastic bags
.They also gave massage to residents to not to waste water and told
them innovative ways of water saving as well as they encouraged them
to water the plants in evening for less evaporation .
While Principal S.K.Sharma told that to develop love for the nature,
children are also given responsibility to take care the plants of
school premises .Students also by making different groups planted
saplings in school premises and are given duty to take care them
for a month so that liability of taking care of plants can be adopted
by students naturally which will lead to turn them into nature lover
and responsible citizens of future.
