Chandigarh 28th April:-- The Directory of Chandigarh Management
Association (CMA) was released today at Lions Club, Chandigarh. Dr.
Zora Singh, Chancellor, Desh Bhagat University was the Chief Guest.
Dr. Manoj Sharma, Past President was the Guest of Honour on the
occasion. A K Gandhi, President, CMA presided over the event. During
the function, Dr. Zora Singh launched the CMA Members' Directory-2014,
which was published after a gap of eight years. The Directory
includes the updated and compiled particulars of each and every member
of CMA in a systematic way. A Seminar on "Challenges in Higher
Education" was also organised on the occasion.
While speaking on the topic, Dr Zora Singh very well described the
challenges being faced by the educationists of private sector as
compared to the public sector. He said that the facilities being
provided by the Educational Institutions such as digitalization of
study material, wi-fi campuses equipped with all other modern
facilities, smart classrooms, availability of quality faculty etc.
involve huge funding. But as such there is no financial support to the
Educationists.
Dr. Manoj Sharma summing up the views of the speaker and the
apprehensions of the participating members stressed upon need to come
up with a sustainable policy and a comprehensive plan to achieve the
intended purpose of imparting higher education in earnest spirit.
A K Gandhi said that the seminar was grand success. During the
seminar, the members raised serious issues relating to higher
education. He added that the lengthy discussion involved pros and cons
of present system of higher education in Punjab. He also told that on
the occasion, new members were formally inducted into CMA fraternity
and were presented with appropriate certification. Dr. J S Nayyar,
Secretary General CMA; Mr. Deepak Dhingra, Chairman CMA Members'
Directory were also present on the occasion.
