Young Mothers Sizzles on Ramp at Max Hospital 'Smart Max Mom' Fashion Show

Chandigarh 07th March:-- To celebrate International Women Day in a unique way, Max Super Speciality Hospital (MSSH), Mohali organized a ‘Smart Max Mom’ contest where young mothers along with their babies took part in a glittering fashion show at Hotel Mountview .  Over 30 vibrant & enthusiastic mothers who had delivered their babies at MSSH, Mohali sashayed down the ramp to vie for the title with much zest and zeal. The contest was a part of  WOMAX, a Max Healthcare program specially designed for women. Keeping with this year’s theme and inspiring change, the fashion show participants were judged on their knowledge about various aspects of women’s health.   Megha won ‘Smart Max Mom’ contest while Neha Singh and Anju (49) the oldest mother to participate were declared first runner up and second runner up respectively.

Earlier Dr Preeti Jindal, Dr Seema Sharma & Dr Seema Wadhwa, all  Sr Consultant- Obstetric & Gynecology, Dr Arpinder Gill, Consultant-Pediatric and Ms. Shivani Gulati, Sr Clinic Nutritionist interacted with the participants and those attending the program on a number of topics which included ‘Preventive Healthcare for women’, ‘Diet and Exercise post-Pregnancy’, Contraception and Nutrition for women. There were insightful discussions and sessions on healthy motherhood and parenting. Dieticians and Physiotherapists were also present to answer specific queries. The young mothers got advice and valuable health related information.

Dr Preeti Jindal spoke on the importance of preventive health care which included screening for early detection of diseases, before the signs or symptoms appear. Since most lifestyle diseases were “silent” the regular check-ups were the only answer. Dr Seema Sharma affirmed the importance of starting contraception during postpartum period to prevent unintended pregnancies and short birth intervals. Dr Seema Wadhwa educated the audience on common gynaecological problems amongst women as heavy menses & urinary tract infection.
