Chandigarh 03rd February:---- Punjabi Circle International(PCI), has made Surinder Shinda, an acclaimed Punjabi folk singer from Punjab, as its brand ambassador in the state.
Punjabi Circle International founder Paul Riat, said that Surinder Shinda will be identifying singing talent in Punjab and we will then be hand holding the upcoming singer in his or her journey, in the field of Punjabi folk music. We have chosen Surinder Shinda as he has been committed to propagation of Punjabi folk music, has been conferred the Punjab Gaurav Rattan award by the state government and is a singer seeped in Punjabiyat and Punjabi traditions. Surinder Shinda will be taking the Punjabi Circle mantle across the state and help talented young Punjabis who are not financially strong, take up singing in a concerted way.
It is noteworthy to mention that recently in a glittering Punjabi Cultural Award ceremony in London, organized by Punjabi Circle International, where Punjabi Singers, musicians, Poets and Broadcasters of UK were given awards, Surinder Shinda from Punjab was honoured by being presented the life time achievement award.
In a statement given in Chandigarh, Surinder Shinda said, that the award belongs to not just me but the entire Punjab and it's an honour bestowed upon the great legacy of Punjabi folk music and singing. On his being appointed as the Brand Ambassador, Surinder Shinda said, that Paul Riat through his organization was doing a great service by offering to help young talented singers in Punjab who did not have the finances and the move by Punjabi Circle International to fight against drugs was also laudable. Adds Surinder Shinda, that it's certainly exciting to be a brand ambassador for Paul Riat's organization.
