MCM DAV Holds National Seminar on 'Recent Advances in Physics'

Chandigarh 24th February:-- The Department of Physics of MCM DAV College for Women, Chandigarh, organized  a National Seminar on ‘Recent Advances in Physics’ sponsored by Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt of India under STAR College Scheme today in college campus.  The chief guest at the seminar Dr. Manjeet Singh, Director TBRL, DRDO, Chandigarh deliberated upon ‘Detonics of High Explosives and Shock Dynamics’. Dr. J.K. Goswami, Coordinator, UIET, Chandigarh was the guest of honour and emphasized upon the students the significance of close knit association of science fraternity for generating scholarly material beneficial to the society.

Prof. O.P. Pandey, Thapar University, Patiala discussed ‘ Nano Carbides’ during the keynote address of the seminar. Dr. D.S. Mehta, IIT Delhi, Prof. Sandeep Sehajpal,  Panjab University Chandigarh, Dr. Soumenduyama, Thapar University Patiala deliberated upone ‘Biophotonics’, ‘Origin of matter in Universe’ and ‘Excitation and dynamics of optical cavity soliton and soliton molecules’ respectively.

The Principal of the college Dr Puneet Bedi appreciated the endeavor and encouraged the students to partake in such diligent academic undertakings.
