Reinforcing its commitment of durability and educating the masses of the functionality of a Washing Machine, the new TVC pays tribute to Videocon's exceptional performance in the category for over three decades with more than 50 million satisfied customers.

CGC Landran Signes MoU with Ligare Voyages Limited

Chandigarh 26^th March:- CGC Landran signed MoU with Ligare Voyages Limited. MoU has been signed in travel, tourism and hospitality sectors. It will be a Joint program for IATA presentations and certifications. Students will get International recognition as well as affiliation. This collaboration provides aviation and hospitality students direct access to the series of specialized programs of the aviation sector. The MoU will have a multiplying effect to expose the students to International Business standards so as to compete at the Global level. According to him under this program the student will get three certifications two International and one Local.

On this occasion, Vice President Ligare Voyages Raman Kapoor shared that the career opportunities available in the world for the students. He informed aviation industry works in the national and international scenario and students can step in this industry with the career options like Pilots, Flight stewards, Air Hostess.

Gian Jyoti Holds Placement Drive:20 Students Selected on 4 Lac Package

Chandigarh 26^th March:- Gian Jyoti Group of Institutions organized Punjab Technical University sponsored pool placement drive for XL Dynamics, Mumbai at Mohali campus. The drive was open for MBA Finance, B Tech, BBA, and B Com students for package up to 4 Lac per annum. As many as 593 students registered for the drive & 20 students made it to the final assessment after filtering the students through rigorous procedure of selection. Students from 25 PTU affiliated colleges and 8 other universities from Punjab, Chandigarh and Haryana participated in the drive.

A recruiting team visited the campus to hire vacant profiles. The event began with a presentation by the company representatives briefing the company profile, job specifications, and remuneration details and fielding the questions from the prospective candidates which was then followed by the GD and Written Test and shortlisted students appeared for personal interview. 20 students were shortlisted at salary of four lakh per annum.

While congratulating the selected students, Chairman J S Bedi urged the students to work hard and motivate them to learn from their previous mistakes to become a successful and responsible person. He shared how this approach has helped Gian Jyotians to claim positions over and above 3 lac per annum as minimum package to start their career.

 

Quest Group Students Visit Pushpa Gujaral Science City

City youth Parth Ahuja Makes ‘Banunga Main MBA’ Film for Youtube

Chandigarh 26^th March:- Trivayni Production made a 15 minutes short film 'Banunga Main MBA', for the audience of Youtube was released at Chandigarh Press Club here today. G S Channi, chairman, Chandigarh Sangeet Natak Akademi was the chief guest on the occasion.

Parth Ahuja, the lead actor, director and producer of this short film, said, that Banunga Main MBA is a light fun filled movie with thorough entertainment. It's the story of a guy who doesn't do anything. He lives in a village and is a big dreamer. The story is about how he meets the girl of his dreams, how his file gets exchanged with that very serious girl. Their situations are comic. There is a very good song in between. He further said that he was a Mechanical Engineer from PEC University of Technology, Chandigarh, and since Childhood he had a dream of starring in films one day. He used to hide it from everyone. He used to shoot on his free days as he was teaching also side by side. Normally people think of their girlfriend but he used to think about his project. He wants to thank all the people who are part of this project.  was his first

Gunit Cour, the lead actress said, that the 15-minute film is full of fun. If this type of character can do MBA so anybody can do anything if they have any dreams. She thoroughly enjoyed doing this film.

G S Channi, said that parth Ahuja came to him just a day before. He likes the way Parth made his short movie. He added that we should have to encourage the upcoming talent so that more & more talent comes forward.

The other characters of the film include Mrs Gosain, Rupinder Jeet Mahesh and Karina Bedi. Most of the City youths have taken different responsibilities in the film making. Karina Bedi is a city based budding designer and fashion stylist. Vicky Masih has taken care of the photography, while Sandeep Kapoor is the cinematographer. Sudesh Kumar did the cinematography of the song and Anurag Aggarwal is the choreographer.

 

 

Chandigarh Police Cricket team wins U.T. Interdepartmental Cricket Tournament-2015

Chandigarh 25^th March:- Chandigarh Police Cricket team won the final match of U.T. Interdepartmental Cricket Tournament-2015 recently played at Cricket Stadium, Sector 16, Chandigarh on 21^st March. The Final match was played between teams of Chandigarh Police and GMCH-32. Chandigarh Police defeated GMCH-32 and lifted the winner's trophy second time consecutively. Previously, Chandigarh Police lifted this trophy in the year 2012-2013 by defeating Estate office team.

 

PGI Director inaugurates two Electricity Sub-stations

Chandigarh 25^th March:- Prof Yogesh Chawla, Director PGIMER inaugurated two Compact sub-stations for Married Doctors Hostel, PGIMER, Chandigarh. The installation would cater reliable and quality electrical supply to the doctors residing in married doctor hostels and old doctor hostels of the Institute. The Engineering Department PGIMER has completed the installation work of two 11/0.433 KV, 800KVA sub-stations. After Commissioning of these sub-stations, the Institute now has a total of 16 which are connected with 66 KV Grid Sub Station of PGIMER. A multi play swing was also handed over to the residents of MDH hostels in presence of Director PGIMER, Chandigarh on the occasion.

The inauguration was done in presence of Prof. Dr.  A. K Gupta (Medical Superintendent, PGIMER),  Prof. Dr. K.L.N. Rao  (Professor in-charge Engineering), Dr. Rajinder singh, Dr. Vipin kaushal,  Dr. Rajesh Chhabra, Er. P. S. Saini (Superintending Hospital Engineer, PGIMER) and other eminent faculty members /officers of the Institute.

Dr Sarvdeep S Dhatt has two patents, sixty-five publications as well as two Books to his name and specializes in the field of Complex Spine Surgery. He has done many International fellowships in Spine Surgery from center's such as Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center NY USA, Stanford University Hospital, USA, Tohoku University Hospital, Sendai Japan, Queen Mary and Duchess of Kent Hospital, Hong Kong, Kings College Hospital, London UK, University of Wales, Cardiff UK and at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Hospital, USA.

 

BETTER INDO-PAK TRADE TIES CAN PUSH OTHER ISSUES TO BACK SEAT: PHD CHAMBER

Chandigarh 25^th March:- Terming the bilateral trade to be the most promising factor and the most potent instrument for having better bilateral relations between India and Pakistan; and facilitate progress in actualizing their strategic partnership for the future, Vikram Sahgal, Chairman, Chandigarh Committee, PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry said, that there is a lot of trade potential with Pakistan. If trade takes a front seat, automatically, other issues shall get pushed to the back seat.

Vikram Sahgal shared that PHD Chamber is organizing second edition of "The Pakistan Show", at Himachal Bhawan, Chandigarh from 26^th to 30^th March, 2015. He added that the first edition of the Show was held at Amritsar in association with Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Pakistan last year. Vikram Sahgal said that booming bilateral trade may well be the strongest pillar of Indo-Pak rapprochement so much so that it shall not only overtake the pace of general confidence-building but also have a substantial impact on each other's mutual perceptions.

Vikram Sahgal said, that according to latest figures of the Directorate General of Commercial Intelligence and Statistics, Ministry of Commerce and Industry India, the volume of bilateral trade recorded a net increase of $410 million from April last year to March this year. Indian exports to Pakistan increased 19% while Pakistan's exports to India grew 28%. Bilateral trade has increased to $2.4 billion, which may soar to $6 billion in the next two years if both countries decide to treat each other equally. Currently, most of the trade between India and Pakistan takes place via Dubai and its volume is estimated at over $4 billion.

Reiterating PHD Chamber's firm resolve to boost bilateral trade ties, Dalip Sharma, Director, PHD Chamber said, that PHD Chamber has been undertaking many initiatives aimed at confidence-building in trading communities on the either side of the border since its maiden show in 2005, the exclusively held Indo-Pak Expo, 2005, wherein only few exhibitors from Pakistan participated. The recently held Punjab International Trade Expo, PITEX, 2014 in Amritsar, saw participation of Pakistani industrialists including delegations from 6 Pakistani Chambers of Commerce and Industry and traders besides 70 exhibitors.

Khurshid Barlas, Chairman, Regional Trade Committee and Executive Member, Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry said that being a part of the integrated approach towards better trade ties, such interactions play the role of a catalyst. He added that these efforts have to be continuous, rigorous and regular. The economic success of the two countries had, for a long time, remained a mutually exclusive exercise thus slowing down its pace of progress and its global impact remarked Barlas.

Many renowned Punjabi singers and actors including Roshan Prince, Kulwinder Billa, Gurkirpal Surapuri, Prince Kamaljeet, Maninder Buttar, Dilpreet Dhillon, Harinder Bhullar, Sukhbir Singh, Gurpreet Singh, Simran Sahajpal, Arsh Benipal, Harsimran, Karamjeet Anmol, Aman Dhaliwal performed besides students of Aryans College.
