Chandigarh, Feb.01, 2026:-The President of the Chandigarh Pradesh Congress Committee, H.S. Lucky, today slammed the Union Budget 2026, calling it a cruel betrayal of the common citizen and a budget drafted to serve only big corporates and political propaganda.
H.S. Lucky said the budget offers nothing for unemployed youth, nothing for inflation-hit middle-class families, and nothing for struggling farmers. "There is no roadmap for jobs, no relief from rising prices, and no guarantee of MSP. This is not a people's budget—it is a corporate wish list," he said.
He added that allocations for health, education, women, and social welfare remain grossly inadequate, exposing the BJP government's hollow claims of inclusive development. He remarked that fuel prices continue to burn holes in household budgets, while the government remains silent.
Calling the budget visionless and anti-poor, H.S. Lucky said it shifts the burden of economic failure onto future generations. He asserted that the Congress party outrightly rejects this deceptive budget and will continue to fight for the rights of citizens.
