Chandigarh to Aim Positive Finish, Saurashtra to Chase Knockout Momentum

Chandigarh, Jan.28, 2026:-UT boys will take on Saurashtra in their seventh and final league match of the Elite Group B of the Ranji Trophy 2025–26 which is scheduled for Thursday at the Cricket Stadium, Sector 16. Both sides will walk in with clear intent as Chandigarh will aim to end their campaign on a high note  while Saurashtra chase a decisive win to strengthen their knockout prospects.

Chandigarh came into this encounter after a convincing victory against Kerala in their previous outing at the home turf.  That win has injected fresh belief into the side, otherwise a challenging season. From six matches so far, Chandigarh have managed just one win. Led by Manan Vohra who is in fine batting form, the hosts will be keen to finish the group stage in a respectable manner. 

On the other hand,Saurashtra, with two wins and four draws from their six matches, the visitors know that a massive result here could significantly sharpen their chances of advancing to the knockout stage. The side is led by seasoned campaigner Jaydev Unadkat who adds immense value. Unadkat has represented India across formats, Tests, ODIs and T20Is and brings with him the experience of 22 international appearances.  Adding further strength to the Saurashtra camp is their star-studded line-up with as many as seven players having IPL experience.
