Mohali, November 04, 2025:-Ashmah International School, Sector 70, commemorated the auspicious Prakash Utsav (Birth Anniversary) of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji with profound religious fervour and devotion. The entire school community participated in a series of solemn and spiritual activities designed to instill the Guru's timeless message. The celebration began with the students and staff visiting a local Gurdwara to pay obeisance and seek divine blessings.
Students listened with rapt attention to the sacred psalms and hymns (Shabad Kirtan), allowing the message of peace, equality, and the oneness of God (Ik Onkar) to resonate deeply. The message of selfless service (Sewa) and the welfare of all (Sarbat Da Bhala) was imparted to the students. An interactive session focused on the three core tenets taught by the Guru: Naam Japna (Remembering God), Kirat Karni (Earning an honest living), and Vand Chhakna (Sharing resources). Students actively participated in religious rituals and took an oath to live virtuously, commit to honest labour, and uphold the right path of living.
Speaking on this sacred occasion, the School Director, Mr. J.S. Kesar, emphasized the Guru's message. He stated that Guru Nanak Dev Ji was an incarnation of humanity, and the values taught by him compassion, love, dedication, hard work, and commitment to global peace remain as essential today as they were in the past.
The School Principal, Ms. Shuchi Grover, urged students to attach themselves to eternal values, stressing that while times change, our ethical foundations must remain intact. She specifically advised students to remember God during stressful times to de-stress and rejuvenate, noting that the Guru condemned empty rituals and superstitions. She motivated the younger generation to follow the right path by adhering to these precious values.
