Women Cricketers of UTCA Welcome Sanjay Tandon on His Induction to WPL Governing Council

Chandigarh, Sept.30, 2025:--The women cricket players of all formats Under-15, Under-19, Under-23 and Senior extended a warm welcome to Mr. Sanjay Tandon, President, Union Territory Cricket Association (UTCA) during a special interaction at the Cricket Stadium, Sector 16 on Tuesday. The felicitation came in recognition of his recent induction by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) into the Governing Council of the Women's Premier League (WPL) at the Annual General Meeting held in Mumbai.

Over the years, under Tandon's leadership, UTCA has consistently promoted women's cricket by providing structured training programs, competitive exposure and improved infrastructure for budding players.

While interacting with players, Tandon said that It is a matter of immense pride that Chandigarh finds representation in the Governing Council of the Women's Premier League. This recognition is not for him alone, but for the cricketing talent that our city has consistently produced. He said his focus will be to ensure that young women cricketers of Chandigarh get enhanced visibility, more opportunities and a stronger pathway to the national and international stage.
