Nail-biting win for Strikers, commanding show by Bashers in CPL

 Chandigarh, Sept.08, 2025:-Capital Strikers edged past Altruistian by 4 wickets in a low-scoring yet tense encounter of the Chandigarh Premier League T20 at the Sector 16 Cricket Stadium on Monday. Chasing a modest target of 107, the Strikers appeared in control initially but found themselves in trouble at 71/6 before staging a late recovery to cross the finish line in 17.4 overs.

Earlier, Altruistian, opting to bat first, were bundled out for 106 in 19.1 overs. Wicketkeeper-batter Sanchit Sahu held the fort with a fighting 52 off 42 balls, but lacked support from the other end. Jaskirat Singh Mehra (3/12) and Karan Kaila (3/14) shared three wickets each. 

In reply, With the scoreboard reading 71/6, a composed partnership between Karan Kaila (25 not out off 22) and wicketkeeper Arjit Singh (17 not out off 14) steadied the nerves and sealed the win with 14 balls to spare. Harshit Singh (3/23) was the pick of Altruistian's bowlers. 

Earlier in the day, Panchkula Bashers outclassed Talanoa Tigers by six wickets. Put in to bat first, Tigers were bundled out for 122 in 18.2 overs despite a blazing knock from Abhishek Singh (41 runs off 20 balls) with five sixes.The Bashers' bowlers were clinical with Abhishek Saini (2/21), Tarannpreet Singh (2/23) and Tanmay Latka (2/25) who shared two wickets each. 

In reply, the Bashers chased down the target with ease in 17 overs, powered by a captain's knock from Ankit Kaushik who remained unbeaten on 60 off 37 balls. He smashed four sixes and three boundaries. Skipper was well supported by unbeaten Tarannpreet Singh (23 runs off 22 balls) as the duo shared a match-winning 81-run stand for the fifth wicket.
